You’ll be staying in a super central location with easy access to some of York’s main attractions which are definitely worth visiting. The highlights include: theMinster, Clifford’s Tower, York Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre, Roman Walls, the Shambles and Bishopthorpe Road. If the weather permits a walk along the river to the Millennium Bridge is highly recommended!
There are some great local cafes including Teajuanas on Skeldergate, Forty Five Vinyl Cafe on Micklegate, and the Perky Peacock on Lendal Bridge.
We love the Angel on the Green on Bishopthorpe Road, great for coffee, drink and food all day. The House of Trembling Madness is a quirky medieval ale house on Stonegate, with amazing beers and really tasty food.
In the Shambles, we love a coffee and a gourmet toastie from the Dark Horse espresso bar in Shambles Market.
There are guidebooks in the apartment, to help you plan your stay. We’d be more than happy to offer suggestions if you need some help!
The location is ideal so you’ll be able to walk everywhere, but worth noting York Railway Station is just 0.5 miles from the property.
There are bus stops going both directions only a short walk from the apartment, on Micklegate.
