About this property
Muirton Cottage - Rural Bliss
Muirton Cottage offers a peaceful retreat in the Angus countryside, surrounded by farmland and extensive woodland. Set within a secluded rural setting near Ardovie, the cottage has been carefully renovated to provide a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, while making the most of its natural surroundings. Its south facing position allows plenty of daylight throughout the day, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.
Inside, the cottage combines modern comforts with a relaxed country feel. The spacious living area provides a cosy place to unwind after a day exploring the area, with wide views across the surrounding fields towards Montreathmont Forest, where local wildlife such as red squirrels, deer and a variety of birds can often be seen.
The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and everything needed for self catering. The open dining area offers seating for up to six guests, making it a comfortable space for shared meals with family or friends.
The cottage has three bedrooms designed with comfort in mind. The main bedroom includes a king size bed and an en suite shower room. A second bedroom features a spacious super king size bed, while the third bedroom offers a small double bed suitable for additional guests. A generously sized family bathroom serves the property.
Outside, the garden adds to the charm of the cottage. The large outdoor space offers a peaceful setting where guests can relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside, with a sheltered dining area that is ideal for outdoor meals in warmer weather.
Location
Despite its quiet setting, the cottage is only a short drive from Brechin, around four miles away. Brechin is known for its historic cathedral and attractions such as Caledonian Railway and Brechin Castle Centre.
Nearby Aberlemno is home to a collection of remarkable Aberlemno Pictish Stones, intricately carved monuments dating back to the early medieval period.
Within around twenty minutes you can also reach the beautiful east coast beaches at Montrose Beach, Lunan Bay and St Cyrus National Nature Reserve, all known for their wildlife and wide coastal scenery.
The surrounding region offers a wide range of outdoor activities, from walking and cycling in the Angus Glens to watersports, wildlife watching and golf. The renowned Carnoustie Golf Links is within easy reach for golf enthusiasts.
Further afield, the coastal towns of Broughty Ferry and St Andrews can be reached within an hour, while the cities of Dundee, Aberdeen and Perth offer additional places to explore.
Set along a quiet half mile gravel track, Muirton Cottage offers a secluded countryside setting while still being within easy reach of the coast, local towns and the wider Angus region.
