We stayed at Seal House for a long weekend with family to celebrate a birthday. Ages ranged from two and a half to seventy. We all had a wonderful time, we very much enjoyed the lovely pool and hot tub. The kids loved the playroom, the adults loved the view. Communication with the manager was very easy and helpful, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property.

The house was fantastic, the amenities were great and we didn’t feel there was anything missing. The pool and hot tub were brilliant and just what our family were hoping for. The house was lovely and warm. The master bedrooms mattress was very hard which was a little uncomfortable. It would have been useful to have a “how to use guide” on the cookers! Thank you for a fabulous stay we will definitely look to return.
This is a magnificent location and the views from the house and also the decking over the river dart are breathtaking. We gambled with the weather by booking in May. But the indoor pool and hot tub came into their own when the weather didn’t play nicely!! The village itself is lovely, but beware of those Devon hills especially when walking anywhere in the village.
We had a lovely time at Seal House, the location was perfect with plenty for the children to do whilst there. The swimming pool was lovely and the house was perfect for a large family to spend quality time. Checking in was very easy with instructions given before arrival. The only thing that could have been better was the condition of the bathrooms on arrival as we had to unblock the main shower on first use. One other shower was stuck on hot as the dial not working but overal we couldnt really fault the house.
The house, the area, the people of Dittisham, first class.
Seal House met all expectations, it is beautiful and in an idyllic setting. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. It is evident throughout the house that the owners have put a lot of thought into it filling it with gorgeous furniture and fittings. We loved, the pool, the terrace with the fire pit, and the lounge with the wood burner. Comfy seating, nice to sit back with friends and or family. Thank you for sharing your house with us.
We had a perfect calm, quiet and much needed break after a busy christmas period. The house is beautiful, watching the ebb and flow of the tide on the Dart was just the tonic we needed. It's also perfect for kids, the pool was (obviously!) great entertainment for them, as was the separate playroom, which had lots of toys from the residents that were available to use. The village of Dittisham is lovely, the Ferry boat pub a nice meandering walk through the village, with the closer pub doubling up as a local shop, which was particularly handy for things we'd forgotten. If you're thinking about booking, do it. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for a lovely stay
Overall, we had a lovely time and the house was what we expected and is true as advertised. A word of warning about the excessively narrow approach road with brick walls either side allows just a matter of inches on each side of the car…!!! The drive through the narrow village road in and out of the house each day is not for the faint hearted or a less than confident Driver..!!Whilst the house and decking are good and accessible for the elderly and small children, the outdoor steep grassy hill going down to the river are not. The outside generally is a beautiful idyllic peaceful place with an amazing view. The red lion community pub is open Tuesday, Fridays, and Saturday for drinks and an occasional pasty - very friendly nice pub though currently under renovation so no outdoor seating area. Access to the pub is 5 minute walk up very steep hill or steps so is not Recommended for the elderly or mobility scooters. The sportsman’s arms pub 2 1/2 miles up the main access road serves wonderful food and has amazing countryside views over from the Terrace.I would highly recommend this property, but we will not miss the narrow lanes in and out!
