PLEASE NOTE: There is an unresolved problem on the VRBO website that I have been trying to have corrected over the past several weeks. As a result, an additional 7% town tax will be added your lease. This is in addition to the NEW 4.5% Delaware state accommodations tax that went into effect in September, 2024. When VRBO added the new tax to their platform, they eliminated the Bethany Beach Town Tax in error. This problem has affected every property owner in the state of Delaware where local taxes are in effect.
Spacious Victorian-Style Home in a blue, white and yellow motif. Wrap-around screened porch & sun deck. Main level Primary Suite and 2nd Primary Suite upstairs. Sleeps 16 in bedrooms (no sofa beds). All beds have quilts and pillows. Four full baths plus outside shower. Located 10 blocks from the beach and includes 2 beach parking passes so you can park free on the side streets near the beach. Bethany Beach free shuttle/trolley June- August. Located in the quiet community of Turtle Walk with off-street parking for 6+ cars. You'll want to return year after year. Pool and Tennis: Few communities in Bethany Beach offer pool and tennis. Tennis is available 1 mile away in Ocean View at Bethany Tennis Club. The nearest water park is 5 miles south in Fenwick Island at Thunder Lagoon (behind Viking Golf). They have a lazy river, kiddie pool, and water slides. There is a water park in Rehoboth Beach also (12 miles away)

Parking and Beach Access: Our house is located 10 blocks from the beach on the bay side of the highway. There are pedestrian crossing lights at the intersections. Rental includes 2 beach parking passes that permit free, unlimited parking on any residential street in Bethany Beach, including the blocks by the beach. They cannot be used at meters. The freeTown Trolley passes through our neighborhood twice/hour. It can be flagged down anywhere along its route in the neighborhood and runs 9 AM to 10 PM from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Our house has off-street parking for 6 cars.

Our Community - Turtle Walk: Turtle Walk is a quiet residential community of custom homes with many year-round residents. All parking is off-street. There is no through traffic making our streets perfect for a leisurely stroll, bike, jog, etc. There are 2 fitness clubs, golf, and tennis nearby. Fenwick Island, Ocean City and Rehoboth Beach have water parks. The town has a boardwalk, community center, frequent free concerts at the bandstand, volleyball courts, great shops and restaurants, plus a miniature golf course.

Minimum rental age 24. Lease, security deposit, and copy of driver's license required.

Fantastic Time

The home is perfect for a large group!! Our family had the best time. The large eating area and spacious screened porch gave everyone a place to get together. The outside shower was a plus for getting rid of sand from the beach. The host has all that you need to have a great stay. Can’t wait to return!! J Davis

Great Beach House for Large Family

We enjoyed our stay at Camp Terrapin! It was great for a large family, especially with two master bedrooms. The wrap around deck was nice to sit outside without being directly in the sun. Having two beach parking passes and being right along the trolley route made the distance from the beach so much more manageable. We had a little difficulty using our access code upon check in, but the owner was at the house very quickly to help us get in. They were also very responsive to any concerns throughout the week. Overall, Camp Terrapin was a great place to stay with our family of 14.

Good place for family gathering

This was a good place for our group of 11 people. The kitchen is seriously lacking with good cookware to the point that one of our guests purchased additional cookware to utilize during our stay. I still don't understand the reasoning behind not providing sheets andr blankets. I recognize that covid caused some of these changes but don't understand why this practice continues. When someone rents a horse and then either had to pack additional towels and sheets, it's inconvenient. Or, your paying more money to rent these products in top of all the other money you've spent. Otherwise, this is a great place, beautiful neighborhood and the trolley was a nice addition in transportation to the beach

I would be happy to replace damaged or missing cookware. I was not informed of this issue during the guest's stay. I inventory everything before the rental season starts and must frequently replace burned or missing pots and pans. The house is fully furnished with pillows, quilts and blankets. Most of our guests travel within a 2-4 hour distance to our beach property. In has been the norm in Bethany Beach to bring your own sheets and towels for decades (at least since the 1960's when my family started vacationing there). I experimented with offering the option of supplying sheets and towels for several years for an additional fee, but discovered that most guests prefer to bring there own to minimize cost, so I discontinued the practice.

Expensive and Disappointing

This property was able to sleep my family of 14 and it was close to the trolley line but it was quite dated and worn looking. I had the impression that there was no pride in ownership and it was just an income property! The floors appeared to have never been washed. There was a lot of mold on a shower door. Shelves in the fridge were cracked and unstable, there was rust in the dishwasher and the racks were broken and missing pieces. The washer and dryer were rusted and the dryer did not turn off when opened. The high chair was filthy and the closet it was stored in had many dead bugs. After several days there we had sinus issues. I felt the air filters had never been replaced.

Wow, I'm so sorry to learn in November that your stay in July was disappointing. Had I learned of your issues during your stay, I could have addressed them at the time. My cleaners are usually very reliable, so hearing about dirty conditions is concerning. The HVAC systems are under a service contract and the filters are replaced on a regular, scheduled basis. The systems themselves are only 2 years old. I wonder why none of this was brought to my attention at the time.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We chose this house based on size/sleeping accommodations for our party of 10. And the fact that it was available. The house was definitely roomy enough for our group. LARGE dining table fit everyone. Plenty of beds and bathrooms. The distance from the beach was manageable for our group (pre-/teens and adults). Might not be as good for younger children. We took every mode of transportation to get to the beach - by foot, bike, trolley, car. Parking passes were helpful! Other good things about the rental: Side screened in porch Lots of porch/deck space Tankless hot water system - great for a large group showering at similar times Lots of dishes/cups/utensils Keyless entry system Quiet neighborhod Less good things: Plastic deck furniture - some chairs are broken Not enough large pots, not much in the way of bakeware Small things need TLC - we were changing lightbulbs, oiling squeaky doors Upstairs carpeting is worn/stained Downstairs bathroom is shared with master bedroom Not much yard space Fridge is on the small side for large groups. An additional dorm-size fridge for beverages would be helpful Linens not included

Spacious vacation house

We thoroughly enjoyed this spacious vacation home. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for the ten of us in the house. We did have to walk 20-25min from the house to the Bethany Boardwalk, but there was the trolley if we wanted to use that option as well. It was clean overall, but someone in the party noted that the high chair should've been cleaned, and we needed to brush off the chair pads around the kitchen table before sitting down. But those aside, we'd definitely visit again!

Great Family Retreat

Really Nice Rental

This is a really nice rental in a great neighborhood. The decor was outdated, but in very clean condition. The outdoor furniture could use some freshening up, but the kids enjoyed hanging out there. There were two large master suites which was nice. The house was very close to the trolley stop which was a nice bonus. I would definately recommend this property for a multiple family / friend gathering!

Nice house for our family of 15, just a little dated

We were pleasantly surprised upon entry into the house to find that the pictures didn't do it justice. The space was good for our family of 15 which included 7 adults and 7 kids ranging in age from 10-16. Everything was perfectly fine with the house and everything worked. We just felt that some of the appliances and furniture felt a little dated. The house is a little over a mile from the beach where all the main shops are located. There are some close food, pharmacy and grocery options near the house. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Bethany Beach vs Ocean City, NJ

The house was spacious and kid friendly with the bunks and the enclosed side porch. Kitchen was a less equipped with just a few small serving bowls .adequate place settings , disadvantage was no pantry for storing the amount of food for a large family. Would definitely stay there again or even the 6 bedroom similar property. Contact with the owner was very pleasant .

Ladies getaway!!

The Bride to be favorite place to be is Bethany Beach. A group of 10 ladies decided to take her away for for the weekend. We couldn’t have picked a better spot to stay. Beautiful home and very well kept. We had everything we needed there. We will definitely be visiting again.

We all liked the house and had a good time staying two nights. It was very spacious and our kids had enough space to rest and play cards. We liked how it was close to the beach and how clean the whole neighborhood is.

The location was very good , while to far to walk places it took less then 10 minutes to get anywhere. Very quiet neighborhood. House I would say was clean but older and lived in. Plenty of space for 8 adults and 5 children.

Great stay!!

The home was clean and in a good location, close to all beaches including Ocean City. We did have difficulties getting into the home during check in but Cindy was readily available to fix the error. My guest and I enjoyed ourselves in the home and there was an ample amount of parking in the drive way for all guest. I definitely would rent this home again.

Having trouble finding a suitable rental as our family grew, we decided to build a home that could accommodate multiple generations and families. Why they chose this property

Parents have their own bedrooms and kids hang out in the bunk room. Grandparents will enjoy staying in the main level master suite. We love relaxing on the screened porch which seems to always enjoy a delightful cross-breeze. This house is also perfect for groups of friends and families vacationing together. I keep it available year-round for those fall and winter get-aways as well as for family holiday gatherings. You'll enjoy comfortable living space, both inside and out.

What makes this property unique

Affordable homes that can accommodate large groups are rare in Bethany Beach. We're located inside the town limits, so you have free beach parking passes for 2 cars and use of the Town Trolley (suspended for 2020). Our home offers on-demand water heaters, so even the last person to shower gets hot water! Being in town was the most important factor for us when we bought this lot to build our family beach home.
