It won't take you long to work out why its called North Castle Street.... just look up and you will see.. Also worth a visit.
Edinburgh Waverley is a 15min walk. If your coming in from the airport, the closest tram stop on Princess street is 7mins walk away.
Edinburgh bus station is also close by with a 10 min walk.
Edinburgh is well serviced by buses.
As this is a basement flat, please note that there are steps down to the front door.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE FLAT AND LOCAL TIPS
Keys:
Keys are left in a lock box, attached to the cellar door opposite the flat’s front door. The code will be issued to you for your arrival.
Transport:
Parking: On street parking is reserved for residents only (please note that parking restrictions in Edinburgh now inc. Sunday). Should you wish to park in Edinburgh please use this interactive map to find the boundaries of the controlled parking zones:

Water pressure:
The water uses a pump system; therefore, you need to keep the tap running for a little while until the pressure increases. Don’t be worried if you hear a noise when this happens it’s just the pump working.
Heating:
In the utility room, on the left of the boiler there is the heating system screen. Press 'Select' until On is shown on the screen. Please switch it Off when it is not needed.
Kitchen:
*Please note the stove hob is gas.
TV:
The TV is connected to the internet. Please feel free to use our Netflix account.
Bathrooms:
Please don’t put anything other than toilet roll down the toilet (no nappies, wipes, etc., inc. the ones that suggest they are suitable) as it will cause a block and is not allowed in the city of Edinburgh.
Washing Machine & Dryer:
The Washing Machine and dryer are in the hallway cupboard furthers away from the front door. For the dryer the water tray MUST be emptied between each cycle along with the lint from the lint tray just inside the door. Please don’t over fill the dryer or it is at risk of flooding.
Rubbish:
Please place the rubbish in the bins provided. Should the bin get full before you leave, please remove the black bin bag to the large communal bins on the street. Replacement black bin bags can be found on a roll.
General:
There are some cleaning products and cloths under the kitchen sink should they be required. A hoover and mop (which requires a grey cloth head situated under the kitchen sink also,) can be found in the same cupboard as the washing machine and dryer.

If you are unwell and feel you require medical assistance you can call NHS 24 on 111.
If it is an emergency the UK number for emergency services is 999.
The Closest food shop to the flat is Tesco Express on Princes Street. A large M&S can also be found on Princes Street.
