About this property

The Barn - Romantic Cotswolds Stay

𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆:

When it comes to quintessential Cotswold stays, it doesn’t get closer than The Barn. The perfect couples getaway - if you like going on adventures together, this is the place. Walking routes, waterways and open landscape sit right outside the door, with a cosy base to come back to. And when you’re all adventured out, there’s a south-facing spot to sit, a croquet lawn nearby, and the pub just down the road. It’s dog friendly too.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲:

The Barn sleeps up to two guests across one bedroom, featuring a king-size bed and a private bathroom. The open-plan living and kitchen area includes a fully equipped kitchen with appliances and cookware, a Smart TV and fast and reliable WIFI. Central heating keeps the space comfortable year-round, and Wildsmith Skin toiletries, along with bed linen and towels, are included for every guest.

Outside, you’ll have access to a south-facing private outdoor seating area, along with use of the croquet lawn, with mallets provided, if you feel like a little knock around before lunch.

𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀:

You’ll have full private use of The Barn throughout your stay, along with access to the outdoor seating area and croquet lawn. Parking is available on site, with one allocated space and additional room for visitors.

Check in from 3PM and check out by 10AM. You can arrive at your own pace with self check-in via key box, just give us a call if you have any issues.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱:

Set within the beautiful Cotswold Lakes, you’re surrounded by over 180 lakes, woodland trails and quiet village lanes. The landscape feels open, green and peaceful in every direction. It's the perfect space to be active and explore, ideal for cycling, paddle-boarding, or just walking and enjoying the abundant wildlife and fresh air.

Cerney Wick is a tiny hamlet surrounded by lakes, fields and walking paths. You’re on the Thames Path, with the River Churn close by, which makes this a brilliant base for gentle riverside walks and slower days outdoors, without needing to get in the car.

South Cerney is within easy reach and is one of the area’s most established villages. Think traditional stone cottages, small, friendly shops, lovely pubs and delightful cafés, plus plenty of options for eating and drinking across the wider lakes.

Cirencester is about 10-15 minutes by car and offers boutique shopping, restaurants, markets, and a rich sense of history. Kemble Station is also close, with direct trains into London, making this spot practical for quick weekend visits as well as longer stays.

𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱:

• A car is helpful but not essential

• 20-min walk to the nearest bus stop (Swindon - Cheltenham)

• Two bikes available (basic) or rentals nearby

𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲:

The house is dog-friendly. One well-behaved dog is welcome (£35 per dog). Decoration services can be arranged for special occasions.

Quiet hours run from 10.30PM to 8AM, and we ask guests to respect the peaceful setting: No parties, and no smoking indoors.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀:

Everybody finds peace in a different way, and that’s how it should be. From the moment you book, you decide the pace, and we’ll be there to help you plan, and create moments that really matter. It’s that little extra layer of support we offer to make sure everything runs smoothly. Thoughtful service, that never gets in the way of a good moment.

Whether that means a slow morning with a fresh pot of tea and a long soak, or a day out exploring neighbourhoods and nature - we’ll guide you, so it all unfolds just the way you’ve pictured it.

Wonderful stay at The Barn

Lovely peaceful Barn in a very convenient but quiet location. Everything you could wish for. Very warm greeting by the host, we cheekily arrived 20 mins early due to a downpour and it was no trouble. Highly recommend.

Lovely, calming, perfect bolt hole for two or three if you have a furry friend. The Barn is very comfortable beautifully furnished with attention to detail, just rock up enjoy. Plenty of information on walks, restaurants and go to places.

The Barn

We have a brilliant long weekend away at The Barn. It was exactly what we needed. The Barn was extremely comfortable, clean and very dog friendly. The location was great too, in a small village but easily accessible to local towns and villages for day trips. Lots of nice countryside for walks too. I’d highly recommend The Barn for a lovely stay in the Cotswolds and we can’t wait to come back!

Dog friendly stay at The Barn

We stayed at The Barn for a couple of nights at the end of October. It was brilliant. The Barn is lovely! Really well decorated and nice and cosy as the weather is getting colder. Everything you need is there including lots of information on things to do locally. We did a couple of walks and went to the pub (Eliot Arms) in South Cerney.

The perfect place

Was there for RIAT. Perfect location for any of the ways to get to the airshow but just out of the way enough to be peaceful. The village itself had a lovely restaurant but close enough to others around the water park. The accommodation itself was exceptional. Everything you needed even down to the tea, coffee and milk on arrival. Cleanliness was to a high level with all necessary bedding and towels provided. Overall, a wonderful, but brief stay and highly recommended

This is a very well equipped apartment above a barn in Cerney Wick. We stayed a couple of nights to attend a wedding and found the apartment to be immaculately clean, with all amenities we would need. It is larger than it looks in the pictures and the bedroom is a fully separate room, with an en suite. It is within easy reach of the Cotswolds Water Park, where we went for some meals and the pub in the village (The Crown) has a great Indian restaurant. Would highly recommend this place for a relaxing long weekend. It is well suited for couples looking to explore the local area.

About the host

Hosted by Be.Here.

Host profile image
We're Be.Here. Stays, a boutique property management company that looks after a hand-picked collection of exceptional homes in the Cotswolds.

Every property in our portfolio has been personally selected, styled and maintained to a high standard, because we believe the space you stay in genuinely shapes the quality of your break. We're not a listing agency. We manage every home directly, which means consistent quality, attentive service and a team that genuinely loves what they do.

Beyond the homes themselves, we offer a guest concierge service to help make your stay truly effortless. Whether that's recommending the best local restaurants, arranging a private chef, organising activities or sourcing that little something extra to make a special occasion feel memorable. However much or little support you need, we're here for it.

Why they chose this property

The Cotswolds is famous for good reason: the rolling hills, the picture-perfect villages, the honey-coloured cottages that seem to deepen in colour by late afternoon.

What tends to surprise people is everything else. Cheltenham Jazz Festival pulls a line-up you'd expect from a much larger city, and the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford is one of the great spectacles of the British summer. Theatres, galleries, antique shops and the kind of coffee stops worth a detour are scattered across the region, often in places you wouldn't think to look.

Daylesford Organic started as a farmshop and has quietly become something closer to a country estate you can spend the day inside, spa included. The Bull at Charlbury does a Sunday roast worth planning the weekend around. Aynhoe Park, since Restoration Hardware took it on, is somewhere between a country house and an art installation. The Cotswold Lakes are a world of their own, lodges on the water, paddleboards waiting for you, room to explore and room to do nothing at all.

This is our neighbourhood. So whether you're after a dog-friendly weekend of long walks and pub fires, a five-star house with a hot tub overlooking a lake, or somewhere to base yourself for a festival weekend, welcome. We're here to help.

What makes this property unique

Be.Here. is a collection of homes built for the kind of short stay that actually feels like one. Each one is different in setting, character, and shape of weekend, but they share the same quiet instinct for what a good break needs.

Nothing is left to chance. We've stayed in enough short-let homes to know which details matter, and we build every Be.Here. home around the ones that do.

Because a short break should feel like a real one. Whether you're here on your own with a book, around a long table with friends, or somewhere in between, the home should disappear into the background and let the weekend happen. That's the art of a great stay.
