About this property

Aintree | Stylish Cotswolds Stay with Workspace

Summary:

Aintree Cottage is getaway simplicity with added luxury. Set just outside Cirencester, this two-bedroom cottage sleeps up to four, with flexible beds to suit families, friends or mixed groups. With a clean, spacious interior, fast WiFi, and an enclosed courtyard for easy outdoor moments, it’s well-suited to wedding weekends, work trips, and time away that feels straightforward from the moment you arrive.

The Space:

Inside, the space is clean, spacious and designed for real life. All the everyday comforts are in place, so you can arrive, unpack once and settle straight into your usual rhythm. Cook together, spread out a little, get some work done if that’s what you’re here for. Just outside you’ll find an enclosed courtyard so you can let your dog out for some fresh air, or venture further and explore the Cotswolds properly. Aintree Cottage will be right here when you get back.

Guest Access:

You’ll have full private use of the cottage and the enclosed courtyard area throughout your stay. Parking is available on-site, and the cottage is located in a gated area for added security.

Check in from 3 PM and check out by 10 AM. You can arrive at your own pace with self-check-in via key box. Just give us a call if you have any issues.

The Neighborhood:

Set just outside Cirencester, this cottage offers easy access to one of the most historic and characterful market towns in the Cotswolds. Cirencester’s town centre blends everyday convenience with a strong sense of place, from independent shops and cafés to traditional pubs and regular local markets, giving you plenty of options whether you’re browsing, eating or simply taking things at your own pace.

South Cerney is also only a few minutes away and is one of the area’s most established villages. Think traditional stone cottages, small, friendly shops, welcoming pubs and relaxed cafés. Tree-lined lanes and village greens make it an easy place to wander, with countryside walks close by when you want to stretch your legs.

Kemble Station is approximately 15 minutes away, with direct trains into London, making this cottage a practical choice for quick weekend visits, wedding stays, corporate retreats and longer breaks exploring the wider Cotswolds.

Getting Around:

We recommend travelling by car to get the most out of the area. That being said, Kemble Train Station is approximately 15 minutes away with direct trains to London. Definitely book local taxis in advance for any specific travel plans. The local bus service is very reliable, and the 51 route links Cirencester, Swindon and nearby villages.

Other Things to Note:

The house is dog-friendly. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome (£35 per dog). A travel cot and high chair are provided and kept at the property. Decoration services can also be arranged for special occasions.

Interaction with Guests:

Everybody finds peace in a different way, and that’s how it should be. From the moment you book, you decide the pace, and we’ll be there to help you plan and create moments that really matter. It’s that little extra layer of support we offer to make sure everything runs smoothly. Thoughtful service that never gets in the way of a good moment.

Whether that means a slow morning with a fresh pot of tea, or a day out exploring neighbourhoods and nature - we’ll guide you, so it all unfolds just the way you’ve pictured it.

Great place!

Very clean, comfy beds, relaxing living room! Parking is very close. Bathroom is huge and excellent quality towels. My only wish is that there were more pots/pans for cooking. Otherwise, we loved this place!

A gem close to Cirencester and the Water Park

The cottages are new and have been thoroughly and thoughtfully kitted out with a lovely kitchen, full laundry and comfortable living room and bedrooms. An outside terrace is a private spot to enjoy a barbecue or to sit and relax outdoors. I thoroughly recommend Aintree Cottage and the other similar cottages in the development.

We are Barry and Jo and we have an amazing collection of Cotswold holiday lodges on Cotswold Water Park near the old Roman town of Cirencester with most of them dog friendly.
We’ve been coming to this beautiful area for many years and about 5 years ago we decided to make the move permanent. We set up our company in 2018, starting with our own holiday home on Windrush lake but as you can see from our portfolio now, we have grown quite considerably! We love to travel and just before the “you know what pandemic” we spent 12 months travelling around the world ending up in New Zealand for Christmas and New Year and then working our way up to Hawaii and North, Central and South America. We think we know what it takes to get a place right for our fantastic guests but we are always learning!

We couldn’t do this without our fantastic team which is growing year by year. Unlike many of the larger companies selling holiday lets we, and our team, know all of our properties intimately because we provide the full service from cleaning and hosting through to managing the hot tubs, the plants on the decking and even window cleaning! Jo, Adele and Meg are the last ones to visit your holiday lodge just before you get there to make sure the place is perfect for your stay – you may even bump into one of them on your way in!

Why they chose this property

Whether your preference is for high-octane mechanised water sport, the more gentle and sedate wind or oar-powered sports or maybe experience the fantastic walks and cycle rides the area has to offer. Or maybe you just want to spend the time relaxing in and around the lodge and hot tub. Cotswold Water Park Retreats is the place from which to base yourself.
The Cotswolds is a great place to visit – it combines chocolate box charm with attractive Cotswold stone properties. It really does have something for everyone – see our Local Area page and ‘like’ our Facebook page for more ideas of places to visit and things to do plus special offers
