We loved our stay here. The cottage is clean and comfortable, excellent location and Sophia was accessible and responsive before and during our stay. Great kitchen. Blakeney is a small village but many great restaurants and many walking paths nearby. A very restful and peaceful place.
The cottage was situated in an ideal location, just a short walk down the high street to the quay. There is pub/inn just a couple of hundred yards down the road and a nice bakery on the quay. The cottage was well kitted out and we had everything we needed.
We loved staying at Jollyboat Cottage with our dog. It is in a lovely area and just a short stroll to the pub, restaurant's and the harbour. We enjoyed a lovely long weekend and it is easy to get to the fabulous beach at Wells which is a short drive away. The cottage has been really nicely decorated and everything has been thought of. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Had a lovely short break the cottage was spotlessly clean. Sophia kindly provided milk, butter and jam. The bed was very comfortable. Will recommend to friends and family.
Comfortable, welcoming and classy. Exactly as described and an easy walk to the coast. Easy to park nearby, too. Spotlessly clean, all the gadgets and amenities you might require. Host was quick to respond to queries and clearly available for help if needed.Compact accommodation, but did not feel small, despite us both being over six foot.Loved our stay. Perfect location to drive east and west to North Norfolk’s best bits!

Well I don’t think I can get any better than that ! Having lost Dad last May sadly , he would’ve loved to have read this . Dad turned that old run down shed:gig house into what it structurally is today . Glad you enjoyed it and hope you’ll return to get yourselves another NNorfolk fix
Jollyboat is a beautifully restored cottage, tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped. The location was perfect and it provided a good base for walking the Norfolk Coast Path and catching the Coasthopper bus. We met Sophia, our helpful and hardworking host who was a source of local knowledge. The lack of outdoor space was made up for by its location 100 metres or so from picturesque Blakeney Quay.
A pretty & nicely furnished cottage but in kitchen area, surfaces were cluttered & cupboards full, leaving no space for guest provisions. Bread board needs replacing! Hated the dog crate in the living room & other dog-based stuff, along with the recycling bin. Upstairs was far too cramped for us, especially washing & showering, with a dangerous step (which we fell over). Nowhere for towels & no wardrobe in the glass-fronted bedroom. Drawer liners recommended, please, along with filled soap-dispensers. And please instruct how to turn on TV! Parking was a pain.

Jollyboat is described as a Bolthole and a Bolthole it is ! Perfect for a couple for a long weekend with or without a pooch .The staircase was built by my father in 1984 and certainly isn’t a“ Norfolk winder”
Unfortunately in the bedroom there just isn’t the ceiling height or space for a wardrobe, instead there are 2 fall arms with wooden hangers supplied,a double hook and an airer for the bath towels .Photographs show the sloping upstairs ceilings and it does state in the write up on Vrbo that taller guests may find the shower restricive. I supply adequate kitchen equipment just incase folk decide to cook on their stay. A dog crate is all I supply for guests with one well behaved pooch.I cover the sofa permanently and it is replaced on every changeover . Bins- one for rubbish one for recycling.
Tv booklet, along with all the instructions are in a cupboard in kitchen island and parking is 40 metres up the street,my other cottage in Blakeney has parking but it isn’t common on the high street to have parking. Thank-you all your pointers that can be addressed have been. 😊
Please contact me before you actually book Jollyboat .We are a local family and go back as far as records show in this area. We have owned the cottage since the mid 80s. It was formerly a gig house , never accomodation. Only for a cart and pony. I clean the cottage myself and expect my guests to respect my little cottage. Thankyou 😊
Why they chose this property
We grew up here spending our summer holidays on the quay crabbing, cockling and winkling with all my cousins and taking an active part in the fetes and village activities that my nanny and aunts/ uncles were involved with. I still have many relations that are dotted about the village ! The regatta is something to behold in the summer .Greasy pole and athletics on the play area. We get a fair in August and fireworks in nov. This quaint coastal village is renowned for its seal trips out to Blakeney point and the gillie crabs along the quayside wall. Not far from Sandringham and Holt , Sheringham and the coastal path goes all along the coast for miles and miles. There are fantastic tennis courts in Blakeney at the village hall. Free parking there too. Just 5 min walk away from my cottage via little lane. Harbour rooms is a lovely place to hang out. They have live bands on. Sometimes a famous face too !
What makes this property unique
Central location but set back from the high street, Jollyboat is a charming Bolthole for 2 and everyone that stays loves it. 40 metres away is the carpark and 50 metres away is the harbour . Delicatessen is 2 doors away ! What’s not to love ! Find Blakeney deli and you’ve found Jollyboat ! Folks coffee on Westgate st is theeeeee best coffee in the village too.
