About this property
Jollyboat Cottage,Blakeney,fab Bolthole for a couple,Close to Quay,Pubs & shops
Please contact me before you book, this is the first of my 3 flint cottages I have on Vrbo in central Blakeney (Pimpernel Cottage & 21a) Jollyboat cottage is Situated in the very heart of Blakeneys’ High Street, set back from the road. Near the Quay,Moorings restaurant, pubs, bakery, gift shops, gallery and coffee/tea room JollyBoat is a perfect romantic retreat for a couple, I also get many lone travellers and repeat guests .2 Magpies bakery and coffee shop is just 50 metres away on the quayside. Fabulous breakfast /lunch in there. Fresh bread to take away and the biggest piles of pastries/croissants and all things lovely on their counter ! Such choice. The White Horse ‘gastropub’ and The Moorings restaurant are also on the High Street overlooking the harbour, not forgetting The Kings Arms on Westgate Street round the Quay .The Spar shop sells everything you’ll need and has a post office and cash machine .
This little cottage is a lovely base to get away from it all for a well-deserved break.
The downstairs area at JollyBoat offers a double height, open-plan kitchen and living space. The kitchen is a good size, with a peninsular providing a dining area and additional storage. There is a Neff induction hob & Neff hide & slide electric oven, slimline dishwasher and small undercounter fridge with separate ice box.The sitting room has a comfortable sofa, with a 40″ Smart TV, a DVD player and electric woodburner. I provide a selection of books.Wooden stairs lead to the first floor and the master en-suite bedroom.Sloping ceilings upstairs in both the bedroom and shower cubicle.
The bedroom offers comfortable sleeping accommodation, with a “double” divan bed and drawers/hanging .Travel cot in bedroom & towel airer .
The glass arched doorway leads to the en-suite shower room with walk in shower, W.C. and small basin. Please note that the shower has a sloping ceiling above, which taller/larger guests may find restrictive and bifold door with “step” up to the basin& wc. It can be restrictive to older or less able guests .The Cubicle is quite small also(76cm square)
JollyBoat has space for two chairs on the yard, perfect for sitting in the evening warmth enjoying a glass of wine after a day of exploring all that North Norfolk has to offer. The Pay Carpark is 40 metres away on high street (5-7£ overnight )or parking at the village hall just a 5 min walk via little lane, to Jollyboat. You get 30 min free on the carpark for unloading if you wish. Please never block the yard to load and unload. Many local people share the yard .

.We are a local family and go back as far as records show in this area. We have owned the cottage since the mid 80s. It was formerly a gig house , never accomodation. Only for a cart and pony. I clean the cottage myself and expect my guests to respect my little cottage. Thankyou 😊

Why they chose this property
We grew up here spending our summer holidays on the quay crabbing, cockling and winkling with all my cousins and taking an active part in the fetes and village activities that my nanny and aunts/ uncles were involved with. I still have many relations that are dotted about the village ! The regatta is something to behold in the summer .Greasy pole and athletics on the play area. We get a fair in August and fireworks in nov. This quaint coastal village is renowned for its seal trips out to Blakeney point and the gillie crabs along the quayside wall. Not far from Sandringham and Holt , Sheringham and the coastal path goes all along the coast for miles and miles.
There are fantastic tennis courts in Blakeney at the village hall. Free parking there too. Just 5 min walk away from my cottage via little lane.
Harbour rooms is a lovely place to hang out. They have live bands on. Sometimes a famous face too !
