Hosts were outstanding, every recommended restaurant was excellent and the location was great, close enough to attractions, but away from the crowds. However, the kitchen could have been better stocked. And my husband and I cuddle all night and the upstairs bed kept splitting apart on us, plus going downstairs to use the restroom in the middle of the night left us wide awake. After 2 nights, we moved to sleeping on the pull out couch and were much more comfortable.
Flavor of an historic style apartment, nothing fancy but complete. Great neighborhood; Piazza Gaetano Salvemini and especially the Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio were faves.
it was wonderful, only thing is that the bedroom was upstairs and we are not in the best shape, other than that it was a great stay.

Shabby Chic in Perfect Location but oh, Those Stairs!
Apartment was much larger than expected (living room, kitchen, bath, equipment storage room- drying rack, iron and ironing board) and bedroom upstairs. Paula and Matthew were wonderful to work with and the place was a short two blocks from the Domo convenient to everything we wanted to do/see. Nice, lively neighborhood east of apartment provided us with a good glimpse of local life. As there was some sort of struggle between taxi’s and Uber we couldn’t get ride from main train station but apartment is only about 1.5 miles from station and it’s an easy walk. Now to the stairs: apartment is on what Americans call the second floor but the stairs to it are few and easy but the 14 steps up to the bedroom can be dangerous for older people, out of shape people or anyone with balance problems.

usually don’t write negative reviews, but in this case, I feel it’s important to share our experience so others know what to expect. While the apartment’s location is excellent, that’s unfortunately the only positive I can mention. The place was poorly equipped and not clean. We found black mold in the bathroom, and the floors were dirty. Although surfaces at eye level seemed dusted, anything higher was covered in a thick layer of dust that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in years. The amenities were disappointing. The provided coffee was undrinkable, and we were given just three tiny bars of soap—hardly enough for a stay of any length. We ended up buying our own soap and shampoo. For the amount we paid, we expected basic essentials to be included, as was listed.Worst of all, my bed was completely broken the first night, and I had to sleep on the floor. Thankfully, my husband was able to fix it, but that’s not something guests should have to deal with.I would not recommend staying in this apartment unless the owners take full responsibility for cleanliness and provide the level of quality and care promised in their listing.
