The Flora Apartment: The feeling of touching the Duomo
We are renovating the building with scaffolding only inside the courtyard until approx. May 2025.
The works take place from Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and sometime on Saturday morning.
The apartment 'Flora' is situated in Piazza del Duomo in the heart of Florence’s historical centre, on the 4th level ( no lift - 87 steps ) of a prestigious XVI century palace that once belonged to the Ghiberti family, one of Florence’s most important historical families, with easy steps well worth the journey.
From October 25 2009, Piazza del Duomo is a pedestrian area with all the advantages that an area like that can offer
Spending time in my apartment is to be accompanied by the shadow of the magnificent dome of Brunelleschi, the grandeur of Giotto’s belltower and the splendour of Vasari’s frescos, in an unforgettable dream that Florence will dream with you and bring you great joy and an even greater desire to return. Flora directly faces the Duomo, giving you the sensation that you could reach out and touch its magnificent green and white marble facade.
The apartment has been completely restored in Florentine style, but with all modern comforts. Flora is a charming and elegant apartment comprising: a living/dining room with a comfortable sofa, a modern and fully-equipped kitchenette, 1 bedroom with a double bed (140x200), 1 bedroom with 2 single beds ( 85x200) that can be transformed into a double bed. 1 modern bathroom with shower, complete the description of the apartment. The location is unbeatable. The stairs are not a problem at all. The view is incredible and being so central to everything is unmatched. Can’t recommend more highly.
We had an amazing time during our stay. The apartment was clean, comfortable and in an amazing location. Central to everything. There are a lot of steps up, so be prepared for those (but they are working on an elevator for future use!). Luca was a wonderful host. We would gladly stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.
You couldn't ask for a more amazing location in Florence! The space was comfortable and the view was amazing. The stairs would make it tricky for anyone with small children, but it's exactly as described, so no surprises. We were there in winter and were warm and comfortable. The central location was perfect for walking everywhere we wanted to go. We would definitely book this spot again!!
Luca was great to communicate with. He met us upon arrival and showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment. The apartment is exactly as shown. It is very charming and in a wonderful area to explore the city. Highly recommend!
Amazing location in Florence directly across from the dome! We enjoyed many long walks experiencing the food, history, and people of the city! There are several flights of stairs to reach this apartment, but it was worth the climb!
Luca was extremely welcoming. He assisted us in taking our suitcases into the apartment and showed us every aspect of the very good amenities. Being right next to the Duomo was something we will long remember. We looked out our bedroom window at this remarkable structure. The streets below were vibrant and active with restaurants and bars along the streets. It is a great location.
Completely worth the steps for this apartment! Views of the Duomo as promised. Just the right size for a family of four, great location for walking to the Duomo, L’accademia, the uffizi and ponte vecchio. The host was great, gave clear directions, met us on the street when we arrived. Easy check in/check out. We had a wonderful stay.
Luca helped make our stay great - easy communication and easy check in. The apartment itself is exactly as advertised, and we can confirm the views of the duomo are extraordinary.
My two adult children and I stayed at the apartment for 3 nights. The communication before we arrived, during our stay, and at check-out was seamless. The apartment is clean, comfortable, with a breathtaking view of the duomo and plaza. Florence is a very walkable city, but this location truly is the best!
This apartment is right across from the Doumo in a great location. The property is just as described. Luca greeted us, explained everything and helped us check out. The property is well maintained and clean. Would stay here again. There are a lot of stairs, so you must be able to climb.
Our family of 4 stayed for 3 nights. The location could not be better for accessing the main attractions in the historic center. It is very quiet in the apartment, and the beds were very comfortable. Luca was very helpful and showed us the apartment. This is probably not a place for those who struggle with stairs - but for those who can handle a few flights this place is perfect!
Absolutely the best place I’ve ever stayed! Location was perfect and close to everything.
The host Luca was so helpful and he has the best pillows on the bed. You can see the top of the Dumo from the living room Skylight, absolutely amazing!
The ability to stay within eye sight of Il Duomo is really quite spectacular. That’s on top of being in a great location for all the things you’d want to do in Florence. The apartment is cozy - it suited the 4 of us just fine, but not much excess space beyond that. Luca’s high level of care for the place was evident and I greatly appreciate his taking lots of time to go over the ins and outs of the apartment. Great place, great owner, and of course, great views!

I feel compelled to respond. Each room in the apartment has its own window facing Florence Cathedral. The bathroom has a window and the kitchen opens onto the balcony. I can categorically state that there is no smell of mold. The apartment is always very clean, and no guest has ever said anything like that. As for the entrance to the building, due to some work being done in the courtyard, there are some building materials there, and I apologize for that, but these are situations that can happen in an ancient building that is more than 500 years old.

This apartment is quite nice. Luca was a great host. He replied quickly to ask questions or concerns. The check in was very detailed. The location really couldn't be any better. You do need to be able to walk up several flights of stairs.
The apartment was directly opposite the Duomo so the location was perfect! In the heart of Florence. We were able to walk all across the city from here. Communication was great and we met a representative at checkin. It was on the fifth floor - so plenty of steps to climb with no elevator!! - but that is Florence! It looked like some other units in the building were being renovated, but it didn't bother us. The apartment was very clean and had very fast wifi. Definitely recommend.

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Flora Apartment! It's in a really neat old building right across the street from the Duomo, yet has been thoroughly updated. Our host, Luca, was very accommodating in meeting us late after our flight was delayed, and took the time to explain how everything works with the apartment. The location is awesome! We would certainly stay here again on our next visit to Florence!

Lucas apartment is beautiful and very modern. The location is amazing, only steps from the Duomo.
We loved staying at Luca's apartment. The cleanliness, modern conveniences and location can't be beat. The only inconvenience is the 87 stairs to get to it. I'm very happy we chose this place for our 3 nights in Florence. Thanks Luca

I'm happy you have enjoyed your stay at the Flora apartment even if, I received only four stars for your review!!!
I'm trying to do my best for my guests and on my ad, the steps are well described so, I expect that my guests can leave a comment about the apartment ( cleaning, lighting, windows, appliances, and my hospitality, ...) but not about the 87 steps, please.
We enjoyed staying at the Flora Apartment. It’s central (right next to the Duomo) and a 15 minute walk to the train station. Because of the location we were able to see a parade from the window. Although there are stairs, we only found them challenging when we had luggage. Luca was a great host. He met us at the apt and we were able to check in early. When we left our passports in the safe, he met us at the train station to get them.
