Great location with long history

We loved this location of this property. We especially enjoyed the history. The interior of the unit was just a bit dark. It could use a couple of extra end table lamps but that really did not detract from our visit. It was a great unit.

Incredible Time at the Time Machine

We loved the apartment we rented while visiting our daughter who is studying abroad in Florence. It is an old palace and right on the Palazzo Vecchio. It was such a perfect location...truly in the heart of the city. It had charm, lovely pictures, the front doors to the building where gorgeous and twenty feet high! We highly recommend.

Beautiful, clean, quiet, helpful and centrally located!

We had such a great time staying here. The apartment is in the Piazza del Signora looking at the Palazzo Vecchio, whose tower can be seen from anywhere in Florence and so easy to find. Both beautiful and comfortable, our place felt like home almost instantly. The showers were luxurious and the beds were comfortable. There's no other place I will stay whenever I visit Florence! For us, our personal highlight was finding our building (the facade was designed by Donatello!) in a painting!

In the Heart of Venice

Property is right on the Palazzo Vecchio and all the major tourist attractions are very easy to access from the apartment. A lot of old world character the apartment. The beds were comfortable and the A/C worked well and was a much needed break from the Florence heat in July. Directions for check-in were easy to follow and required no personal interaction. It would have been nice to get a slightly earlier check-in, but the door access app appears to be hard coded to only work after check-in time.

We enjoyed the apartment and location. All four of us had challenges with mosquitoes. We did not open the windows because there were no screens. I would charge more and install screens. The noise at night from the square was disturbing- more than we anticipated. Otherwise it was positive

What a location!

When you realize just exactly where you are staying it i amazing. When we see photos of the Plaza Signorina we always look for our "front door". When we come down the stairs I imagine the horses and carriages and women in flowingt gowns. The loation is perfect. We struggled witht he self check in. It took us quite a while to get into the apartment. The apartment is old and fairly small, but served our needs. The restaurant owners below us were very helpful as well. We loved our time in Venice and this location made everything so much easier.

Three days in Florence

My husband, two grandchildren and I loved our stay in this apartment. The location is fabulous; it's a short walk to all the major attractions, plus there are restaurants and stores right outside the magnificent apartment building with it's most impressive door. The apartment is lovingly appointed with attractive furniture and art work. The dishes, glasses, cutlery are what you would enjoy using in your own home. You're meant to be comfortable while you stay here. We were grateful to find coffee and tea in the cupboard and umbrellas for the rainy day. Communication was excellent. Inquiries were promptly and kindly answered. Pietro's gracious manner matched the loveliness of our experience. Grazie mille!

Hidden fees and poor plumbing

Upon check out we were told to leave cash for some extra fee- that was never part of the original booking. Also we were charged for plumbing because the toilets didn't flush since we arrived. It's really old and poor plumbing. He claims we broke not one but both toilets and wanted us to pay for it. They were not working on arrival.

Fantastic Location in Historic Building

My husband and I and our two college-age daughters spent 4 nights in this delightful apartment overlooking the Piazza della Signoria in Florence. What a beautiful place and a fantastic location!! Staying here and using our keys to unlock the enormous oaken doors off the square felt like being a local with exclusive access to a very special space. The entrance to the Uffizi Museum is only steps away on the other side of the square yet inside our space was quiet and serene. The apartment building overlooks the pedestrians-only square; this particular apartment is on the back side above shops and restaurants three stories below. We loved the historic feel of the apartment and could imagine life there hundreds of years ago, yet the apartment offers many comfortable modern amenities. There are two bedrooms with two full baths separated by gracious living space, so it's perfect for traveling with adult children. The two built-in armoires in the master bedroom provided shelves on which to perch our suitcases, a bottom shelf for our shoes, and plenty of hanging space for clothes. The wonderful location made it possible for us to return during the day to take a relaxing break from touring or to quickly use the bathroom and head back out. There are bakeries and a Carrefour Express grocery right around the corner, so it was easy to stock our kitchen with breakfast items. We were also grateful for the washer/dryer. Gaia was so pleasant, responsive, and easy to work with, she is a delight. We feel very lucky to have found this gem of an apartment, and we will definitely book it again and recommend it to friends! Outstanding!!

When we arrived after a long trip from the US, the owner said we could gain access through a virtual key, but we did not have internet access when we arrived because we were using US phones and Whats App for communication.We went to the pub next to our building in desperation and he to let us hook up to his internet and try to access through the VIKey system. We found the directions very confusing. After numerous phone calls to reach the owner, we finally called VRBO directly. VRBO was able to contact the owner who said she would send someone to meet us at 9 a.m. the next and day to address our concerns . We needed to know how to link up with WI-FI, use the washing machine and adjust the air conditioning unit, no instructions. The owner sent her cleaning woman who tried to be helpful but did not speak English. We managed communication with her using the translate app. We felt bad that she had to shoulder the burden of frustrated renters. We continued to have trouble with the key throughout our stay. There also was only one set of keys for us (two couples). At times, when we wanted to do different things, we left the door open a crack to enable our friends to gain access.We strongly suggest that the owner change the entry process. It really hampered our stay in this rental. Also we noticed other reviews addressing the same problem and the owner did not seem sympathetic at all.
