About this property
Retro Styled Retreat, Sea Views & Free Parking with EV Charger
Just a minute's walk from the promenade, this stylish retro-inspired three-floor accommodation features bedrooms with private balconies offering superb views of the Whitby coastline. Enjoy two private parking spaces, an EV charger, and a small garden with sea views and outdoor furniture. With Whitby's attractions nearby, you can easily access the beach, explore local pubs and restaurants, or dive into the area's rich history.
The house was formerly the garage of the famous Metropole Hotel in Whitby and was converted in 2020 into three-story accommodation comprising:
- Open plan kitchen, diner and lounge with bifold doors opening to the terrace and garden area. Downstairs toilet.
- A first-floor family bedroom with two single beds and a bifold door opening to a balcony with a view of the promenade and sea.
- Family bathroom with toilet and shower.
- The second-floor master bedroom has a king-sized bed, a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite with a toilet and shower. A bi-fold door opens to a balcony with views of the Whitby coastline and town.
- Terrace and garden area at the front of the house with outdoor chairs and table and views of the sea.
- The two private parking spaces at the front of the property are a rare find in Whitby. Having a charger for your electric vehicles is even rarer!
The interior is influenced by retro design, mixing quirky vintage items with top-quality modern appliances. Luxurious white bedding and fluffy white towels are provided.
The kitchen contains an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer (no charge for use), full-size dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine (takes original pods), kettle, and toaster. Basic supplies of tea, coffee, condiments, oil, refuse bags, and dishwasher tablets—plenty of cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, baking dishes and oven trays. Tea towels and oven gloves are supplied.
The lounge area has a comfortable corner sofa, a smart TV with Netflix, Wi-Fi, and a DAB radio with a Bluetooth speaker for playing music from mobile devices. There is also a selection of books, games, guidebooks, and maps, as well as a coffee table.
Shops and pubs are 5 minute's walk, and the beach is 1 minute's walk.
Note: Children are to be supervised due to balconies.

Why they chose this property
We have been visiting Whitby as a family for many years. It features stunning beaches at both Whitby and Sandsend, along with friendly and welcoming locals. There is always something happening in Whitby, including Goth and Steampunk festivals, regattas, and shows at the Pavilion.
The surrounding areas also offer plenty of nearby attractions. Along the coast, you can explore other beautiful bays such as Runswick Bay, Robin Hood's Bay, and Scarborough. Inland, the North Yorkshire Moors provides excellent walking opportunities. Malton, recognized as the food capital of Yorkshire, is worth a visit for lunch.
With our house conveniently located just around the corner from the West Cliff, it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll to the beach.
