With beautiful bay and ocean views, a dog-friendly attitude, and space for four guests, this Gold Beach vacation rental is a lovely place to stay while you're here at the Southern Coast.

Located just about 200 yards from the waterfront, this home is within easy walking distance of the shore and the restaurants and other businesses in town. With the ocean and Rogue River so close, you can easily go boating, fishing, or otherwise spend plenty of time enjoying the water.

This one-bedroom, one-bathroom house can accommodate two guests. If you also rent the neighboring Harbor View Studio Cottage that can host an additional three guests and their dogs, you can bring a group of up to five!

This self-contained home has everything you may need to have a wonderful time here in Gold Beach. Step inside to find a compact but comfortable home. The full kitchen has plenty of space to maneuver, plus all the major appliances (including a dishwasher for easy cleanup) that you will need to whip up tasty home-cooked meals.

You can sit at the dining room table and enjoy a leisurely meal, or use it as a place to spread out maps and brochures to plan for the day's adventures. This home also has WiFi in case you like to look up restaurant reviews online or need to get a little work done while you're here. Other entertainment options include a DVD player, a selection of classic movies, and a shelf full of books.

There's a full bathroom where you can wash off the saltwater, and this home even has a laundry area to freshen up any sandy clothes. When it's time to head to bed, you will find that the bedroom has a queen-size bed, a wall-mounted TV, and a queen sized Murphy bed in the same room. You're also welcome to bring your dogs with you.

Outside, this home has a lovely deck where you can relax and breathe in the fresh sea air. You can use the electric grill to cook up some lunch to enjoy while looking out over the scenery.

When you're ready to check out the beach, you can simply walk across the highway and out Jetty Road just about half a mile to reach a sandy beach at the mouth of the Rogue River. Just a little farther west is the ocean beach, which stretches south the entire length of town and beyond. This stretch of sand is quiet and a particularly great place to find interesting pieces of driftwood.

Here in Gold Beach are several restaurants, shops, and two grocery stores so you won't have to go far to find the basics or try out the varied eateries. If you want to check out the other cities around the Southern Coast, you can drive south about 30 miles to Brookings or north about 30 miles to Port Orford, though charming Gold Beach has everything you might need.

With the Rogue River flowing just north of town, this region is a fantastic place for fishing, crabbing, rafting, and boating. Book a spot on a charter, or set out on your own to seek adventure. Plus, with the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest stretching to the east, there are plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and exploring options at your fingertips. Enjoy a close proximity to the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor. Just pick a trailhead and go!

Come stay at this bay view, dog-friendly Southern Oregon Coast vacation rental and get ready for a fun-filled trip!

Phenomenal view

Tremendous view of river and ocean. House and deck are spacious. Very comfortable bed and quality linens. Great set up for a pet as yard is also fully fenced.

Property has great view but cottage is very tired with old bathroom, kitchen and furniture. Have a SUV or higher auto to get up steep, potholed driveway. Insufficient lock on front door handle.

We stay here all the time when we come to Gold Beach. It is comfy and convenient to shopping, dining, the river, and the beach. Great fenced yard for dogs.

Small and quiet!

This was a nice little home, it needs some work but was a great stay! The yard is perfect for the dogs. The bed was so comfy and towels were so soft! I would stay here again if needed! The house next door is available too, but they have a rock yard instead of grass. Perfect for two people and two dogs.

Our 5th time here

We have stayed here 5 out of the last 7 years. We keep coming back because of the fenced yard, the beautiful deck and the fantastic view. But there were some disappointments this year. The boards at the top of the steps are becoming a tripping hazard, the hedge hasn't been trimmed and is blocking the view and the drape covering the slider is in need of drastic repair. We love this place! We hate to see it deteriorate! We did not contact the manager because all of these things will not be a quick fix.

The views are the highlight

I was surprised to see that the entrance was a narrow gravel one lane road. (I wouldn't want to walk it to the beach). When we arrived at the top of the hill we had no idea which unit was ours. Then we eventually saw the address a little further down the road. We only had one vehicle so it didn't matter but not sure where you would park a 2nd vehicle. Also, as were unpacking, we saw a deer and a couple of young ones hanging at the end property. They were out and about so we had to be very careful when driving out. We loved seeing them but be careful with your pets. The yard was great for a dog, but not green grass as pictured. The lockbox was difficult to open and then close as we left. (recommend getting an updated lockbox or a coded entry lock). The kitchen was big and had lots of amenities. We were only there a couple of days so didn't do much cooking. As I mentioned the view was amazing. Unfortunately we landed there when it was very windy and we didn't get to enjoy the deck. The queen bed was comfortable and we didn't use the wall bed. The bathroom was visually outdated but worked fine. TV options were limited....no streaming capabilites. Wifi was fine for phones and laptops. We landed there on 2 very windy days so didn't really get to enjoy the beaches.

The Rogue

Grass was 4 feet tall in back and was hard to see dogs and find droppings until mowed day before we left. Under bed needs to cleaned bad. Bathroom sink does not drain.

Great views

The views are great. There is a big deck to sit on and enjoy the sun. The yard is fenced for the dogs and they really enjoyed the treat jar. The road up to the house is very steep. The one con to staying at this house is that the bath towels were not dry, not even close. I did not discover this until I went to take a shower. It took an hour in the dryer to get them dry.

Caution - Home Needs Work

Nice enough place if you expect the basics. Was just about impossible to get entrance information and called and texted and finally got it. Said it came in email. But to get up the road to the home you should have AWD or SUV or truck. We drove our van up but was spinning out and major bumps in gravel road. We got stuck once and barely made it up the road. If you are not careful you could go over the edge and down the hill. The parking spots are risky as if you look from below the orange caution fence is right at the edge of a washout and if not careful, and drive forward the parking spot might give way over the edge. We parked on side of house and worked. The house, well, we walk in and close the door and the bulletin board falls off wall. When you use the wash machine or shower, the pipes or water heater make rumbling sound. They have a wine rack of empty bottles and wine stain on ground. The sliding glass door in back has to be slammed to lock and the door to laundry was not working. The front door lock needs to be replaced. The deck has screws sticking up everywhere and is rotting and was worried our dogs paws would get ripped up or cut. All in all we survived but keep your expectations very low and for the price it is not worth it. I am fine with the 1970s pink bathtub and toilet but toilet is fidgety on flushing. This home needs serious work before it should be rented. And then could not even get a 11am checkout as they needed to get it ready for a 4pm check in? Really?
Road up to house is just a mess.
Example of nail sticking up.
Be careful on deck and do not let your dogs or walk barefoot.
Here is what they have postings that just fell off.

Great little escape!

The home was very clean. The driveway is very steep. There are 5 wooden steps you have to go up to get into the house. We loved that we could bring all 4 of our dogs!! The yard was perfect for them. No one was staying in the neighboring cottage when we were there, which was good, because our dogs would have barked at every noise on the other side of the shared fence. So, beware of that if you have barkers, like we do. There are houses all around the cottage, but it was very quiet and serene. The view over the harbor is great. The seals come up on the boat docks regularly, and we could hear them talking to each other. Lots of osprey and bald eagles fishing in the harbor. We had great weather while we were there, so it was easy to spend time on the deck and walk for hours on the beautiful sandy beaches. Everything in Gold Beach is super close- just a minute or two drive to a store or restaurant. We really loved this little get away!

The cottage itself was fine but we weren't that impressed with Gold Beach itself. We were also surprised to see the road up to the cottage....a very steep gravel one lane road. You just hoped you didn't meet another vehicle. It took us a minute to find the cottage as there were a few other properties on the grounds. (Also, there was a family of deer living at the end of the road so you need to be careful as they hang out around the outside of property.). The cottage had a fully fenced yard and a great view of the water. It was an old property but it was clean. The kitchen was huge and fully stocked. The bed was comfortable. The TV seemed to be basic cable so no streaming capabilities.

Such a cute little cottage with a stunning view. The place was very clean and had everything you would need for any length of stay. There are a couple grocery stores and restaurants nearby that made getting necessities for my trip very convenient! The driveway up is not paved and a little rough. I was driving a Jeep so I had no issue, but just something to consider.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Very relaxing and nice view of the harbor and ocean in the distance. The bed was very comfortable. Quiet location, nice yard for dogs. If you bring them the drive up has a blind spot. One of us walked ahead to the curve to make sure no one coming up or down each time.
