Ghyll Foot is a delightful 200 year old stone-built cottage. It is situated in the attractive Cumbrian village of Ainstable in the Eden Valley. The village is approximately 10 miles from both Penrith and Carlisle. The cottage is ideally located for touring the unspoilt Eden Valley, the Lake District, the Pennines, the Scottish Borders and Hadrian's Wall.

There is an excellent restaurant in the village.
At Armathwaite (1.5 miles) are local shops, pub-restaurants and railway station on the famous Settle to Carlisle Line.
Supermarket shopping is available in the larger village of Lazonby (4.5 miles).
The River Eden itself is ideal for angling, canoeing and other recreational pursuits.
The Eden Valley is excellent walking country with many interesting and attractive walks in the area.

We had a lovely restful weekend, very well equipped cottage. Owner very attentive sent us loads of useful information before our stay. Definitely a great find.
Such a lovely cosy cottage, we had a super chilled out break with the dogs .the cottage had everything we needed .was very clean on our arrival. Access to walks ,penrith and carlisle was great .lovely peaceful little village. The village shop is well stocked .and the fox and pheasent is great for food .we had a lovely time .thanks to our hosts
