Cute little cottage - in a friendly village. Can recommend the Sunday lunch at Heather Glen Hotel. Nice pubs in neighbouring village of Armathwaite, plus a very accommodating shopkeeper, who went out of his way to source a lovely pork pie. Very helpful host who provided lots of useful information before our visit. The cottage was cosy, well equipped ( apart from requiring an outdoor broom - to sweep up dropping wisteria flowers, so didn’t keep walking them into house - had to get hoover out daily! )Comfy beds and good shower over bath ( needs a grab rail on wall for us oldies though).Nice private little patio garden to sit out in - getting sun for most of the day. We enjoyed some lovely walks with Donald our whippet - along the river and into Coomb woods in Armathwaite - made this our early morning dog walk as only took a few minutes to drive there - and could pick up supplies from the shop at the same time. High Stand Plantation very close by in the car too - ideal in hot weather. Very enjoyable stay - our first visit and hope to return.
