Town: Situated in the heart of the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Devon/Somerset border lies the village of Yarcombe. Home to a hotel with a pub and restaurant, and a local post office, the village is also brimming with heritage, with its historical Norman church, old inn with monastical roots, village hall and cluster of houses, but its many outlying farms and hamlets make Yarcombe a large parish with a very active community. With wonderful fields, hedgerows, woodlands, and isolated farmsteads this is rural living at its best. For attractions, travel up to Castle Neroche National Forest with expansive hiking and equestrian trails to follow, or travel south to Axe Valley Wildlife Park, a firm family favourite, home to a whole host of animals. The coastline can be reached via a short drive, arriving at Seaton Wetlands for a nature-filled trek, climb up to Hooken Cliffs for the best vantage point, or tour Beer Quarry Caves, offering daily underground tours of the vaulted caves, whilst enjoying the delights of the Jurassic Coastline.
