Lovely apartment in walking distance of most attractions

This is the second time we’ve stayed in Rydale House especially for the Christmas market, Castle view is a lovely spacious apartment, well equipped, within walking distance of York city, Christmas market, shambles in fact most of the attractions, only thing missing were Christmas decorations which would have added a warm Christmassy feeling.

Great stay!

Stayed originally for 2 nights booked in York in this stunning apartment, but had such a good couple of days wanted another and lucky for us it was empty that day so booked a further day! Absolute top line accommodation - very modern, spacious and the views from the 5th floor to die for! Great location to central York and would 200% stay again when we get a chance.

Perfect stay

We really loved the apartment. Beautifully furnished, clean, quiet, well equipped and in a great location. We have stayed in several Ryedale House apts and this ranks alongside the best. Slightly odd that the sofas face away from the great views and vaguely annoying that Netflix etc didn’t work. Double parking space is an added bonus. Will return.

Great location Great Views Secure Parking But let down with maintenance issues in bathrooms

Location was amazing with a great view from all rooms. Underfloor heating was good This apartment was let down by a few maintenance issues the bathrooms 2 out of 3 not able to use due to extremely hot temperatures that could not be turned down We all had to share which was not ideal as en-suite. A broken window door that could not be open The beds we all found uncomfortable and didn’t have great nights sleep in both rooms. The sofa had a couple of large stains on it and needed a good clean We would not return to this apartment

Mid week 2 day Christmas break.

Three of us stayed for two nights in mid December. The apartment is well equipped, very large, comfortable with outstanding views. Ryedale house is a great location for York with secure parking. No noise at all from outside, have to say excellent. Only issue was on arrival couldn't access the car park due to the provided car park fob not working. Caused a little problem however Dawn on the reception desk sorted our problem and gained us access. Shower in second bedroom en suite was too hot and unable to change temperature. Not a major problem as there are three bathrooms. When we come to York again would definitely stay here again.

Great apartment in the heart of York

Great apartment well located in the heart of York, 5 min walk to the Shambles. Lovely views from 5th floor. Inside the apartment is clean and modern with everything you’d need. Easy to find with private parking and easy access to lifts from car park. Only thing I’d improve would be some curtains in main living area, whilst the views are great it’d be nice to close them at night. Check in was pretty smooth only thing I’d call out is that the key safe is named differently to what is stated in instructions. This caused a bit of a delay as there are two cupboards full of key safes! This would be an easy fix. All in all would definitely recommend for a stay in York.

Weekend city break

Fantastic apartment in an ideal city centre location. Good communication from Stays York. A few minor problems on arrival and during our stay. The key fob for the automatic gate didn’t work so we had to contact the emergency out of hours support to gain access to the building car park. Luckily another resident let us into the car park after a wait of half an hour. Once in the apartment the quality and facilities was brilliant. We were made aware that the large sliding kitchen window was broken but that wasn’t an issue. Netflix wouldn’t work on the TV and there was a pungent odour coming out of one of the shower drains. The other 2 bathrooms were fine so this wasn’t a problem.

Lovely Apartment

We stayed for 2 nights at Castle Outlook, York Stays gave us comprehensive instructions on arrival procedure etc, The apartment was nice and clean when we arrived and the location ideal with a short walk to the centre of York. The tandem parking space was very useful and there was a lovely view from the lounge and main bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked with quality pans and crockery, the apartment has modern bathrooms and comfy beds. We would love to visit again as there is a lot to do in York, would certainly book through York Stays again and found this apartment ideal for visiting York.

some missing

We couldn't find a pot when we wanted to cook, there were stains on the glasses and plates, we had to wash them all over again, the cordless vacuum cleaner would run for a minute and then shut off, so we couldn't vacuum the house, the sliding door in the living room, like all the doors in the building, we couldn't close it after opening it.

Brilliant location

This was my second booking for Ryedale House. Unfortunately not as smooth as the first. Communication was not great. A broken sliding window was the problem, yet nobody let me know when I was told at 1.45 the apartment was nearly ready for me to access. I waited in reception and eventually gave up. After ringing again I was told there was a problem and an engineer would be arriving before check in time. The engineer arrived at 4.15 whilst I was having to change to go out. Luckily he managed to close it but not fixed. This was an unexpected problem I know but I was kept waiting a long time, not able to unpack as I was advised I might have to be relocated. I am hoping to book again and hope another apartment will be available.
