About this property
A home away from home.
A home away from home. It is not fancy, it is cozy. A place to relax. Close to Yellowstone Park, amazing fishing on the Big Horn River. Enjoy the hot mineral pools, or visit the amazing Dinosaur Center.
I will provide my personal cell phone number after you have booked.
One of the nicest neighborhoods in town. Great friendly neighbors on each side.
Cozy house is part of a duplex, it is the back unit. There is a nice back porch with a large overhang that is very pleasant to sit under even in bad weather. It is a great place to watch the sun come up. There is also a concrete pad you can park on, or park a truck and camper next to it. If you use the back door there are no steps to get inside. A cute little house under huge beautiful silver leaf maple trees. Has outdoor barbecue grills and lots of shaded outdoor areas.
The house is located only 4 or 5 blocks from most of the restaurants in town. By driving it is only 2 minutes to almost anyplace in town.
Our Cozy house is unit #2 as it is part of a duplex.

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The property was not clean or as advertised. There seemed to be a weird door into another apartment that was not locked. The furniture and beds were worn out. Great location.

Joshua,
I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. I am concerned about the the claim of not being clean. We will definitely address that. We strive extremely hard to make our houses extremely clean. Every house has floors cleaned, all linens washed, tables, counters, light switches, etc are all cleaned and disinfected. We almost never have a complaint of not being clean. It is listed as the Cozy House, like your grandmothers, it intentionally has 1970s decor and furniture. Yes old formica kitchen table with vinyl chairs with rollers on them. Both mattresses are however less than 2 years old, a new fridge with ice and water in the door is present. The bathroom shower and sink have been upgraded from the 1970s Harvest Gold to tile as a crack formed in the shower. It is one of the lowest cost places in town at a little over $100 per night on a weekend, but lodging taxes and fees for VRBO are added to it. We also apologize for not being able to give you a late check out as you requested as we had new guests coming in that day. The door you complained of had 2 separate locks that lock from the guests side. This is a duplex as explained in the description. That door accesses the basement where we store additional supplies. We also realize the unusual heat wave may have had an adverse affect. The 2 large window AC units struggle when we hit high 90s and even 100 degree temperatures. We are truly sorry your stay was less than excellent.
A really nice place for a small family to stay right in the center of Thermopolis.

Barb,
Thank you for the kind words. It is especially nice since you also have a VRBO in Whitewood SD. I understand it is beautiful there. We look forward to having you again.

We are repeats. Our favorite things are the fully functioning kitchen and comfortable couches. The location is great. Close to everything youd want in Thermopolis. This time we did morning hikes close by. Of course we swim in the hot pools. The photos are on top of Round Top Hill. You can get there in about two minutes from the property.
