The house has remained in the O’Brien family ever since, and its character reflects centuries of stories, creativity, and eccentric charm. Designed by Donough O’Brien, the house is an architectural gem that has inspired several well‑known artists from the O’Brien family, including Dermot O’Brien, whose work hangs in the National Gallery of Ireland, as well as Cicely O’Brien and Geraldine O’Brien, who painted from her studio within the house.
