About this property
Gable View
Summary:
Welcome to Gable View, Cookswood!
Nestled in the heart of Somerset, England, this newly-built contemporary eco-home sits within the 450-acre exclusive Cookswood gated estate. Offering the highest level of sustainable luxury, in addition to its stunning woodland surroundings, this property is an idyllic destination for family or groups stays.
The Space:
Downstairs;
As you walk through the front door, you’re greeted by a contemporary styled interior in a beautiful open plan space. The floor-to-ceiling sliding doors fills light throughout the whole living, kitchen and dining space. The kitchen is a blend of modern design and practicality, with top-of-the-line appliances as well as a large kitchen island, perfect for socialising around. This property also featured a large utility room, downstair toilet and storage space.
Upstairs;
The property comprises 4 good sized bedrooms (including 3 double sized beds), 2 of which have en-suites and a luxury family bathroom with a free standing bath. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and exceptional views out across rural somerset and also has a floor to ceiling windows/doors opening out to a private balcony with table and chairs.
Fluffy towels and crispy white linen is included during your stay.
Outside;
The property has a hot tub, BBQ and outside dining area. You will enjoy the tranquil environment this house has to offer in the heart of rural Somerset nestled within the green woodlands.
Additional Information:
The house benefits from the latest in eco-friendly heating with underfloor pipes powered by heat-pump technology, ensuring the floors remain warm and inviting. An electric car charging point adds a convenient touch for eco-conscious travellers.
Guest Access:
Guests staying at the property also have access to the Cookswood Estate
Mineral Lake, which is fed by natural local spring water. During the
summer months, the water takes on a beautiful turquoise hue, creating a
peaceful and rejuvenating setting. The lake is perfect for wild swimming,
paddle boarding, and kayaking, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy
nature in a private and tranquil environment.
Other Things to Note:
While the house is completed, the wider site is still under phased construction. You may notice building activity elsewhere on the estate, but this should not affect your stay. The estate is a former quarry, and the terrain can be muddy, so we recommend bringing wellies or suitable walking shoes if you plan to explore the surroundings.
The house also has parking up to 4 cars. 2 cars can be parked at the house and 2 to be parked at reception.
Please note that the lake is owned, managed, and operated by
