Located minutes from North Shore and less than 1 mile from the shops, restaurants, parks, tennis and pickleball courts of downtown Eastsound guests can enjoy convenience and solitude. From this home guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll to the beach for sunny day activities by the water or a brisk walk into the village for coffee and shopping. Eastsound provides plenty of year round entertainment options for guests whether here for a week or just a weekend.

If you'd prefer to spend some time at home, this property will not disappoint. The Orcas Beach Cottage has everything you need for an amazing getaway. Rain or shine, guests can take in the stunning views from nearly every room in the home. Warm days make grilling on the BBQ in the gorgeous garden or stories around the firepit an excellent way to unwind. Blustery days of the fall and winter are met with a cozy spot in front of the fireplace and brand new dry sauna meant to take the chill away.

A bright nautical design, large windows, and high ceilings give the home a wonderful sense of character. During your stay, enjoy free WiFi, DVDs on the flatscreen TV, or time in the dry Nordic sauna. You'll also have plenty of other extras to enjoy: filtered water, on-demand water heater, and even a back-up generator to keep you nice and cozy during an island storm should the power go out.

Great family retreat on Orcas Island

We loved the location on the beach and close to Eastsound. The house is spotless and has many amenities. It is a wonderful place for family or a girls weekend. We loved having three bathrooms and the open living, dining, kitchen area. The view is amazing and the back yard is fully equipped with outdoor furniture and a fire pit.

Perfect Island Retreat

High bank waterfront gem with outstanding island views. Home is well designed for families with two queen en suites, one on the main floor, plus two additional bedrooms good for kids or singles. Beautiful decor and accessories. The kitchen is well stocked for meal prep and entertaining. The patio and garden are splendid. We loved our stay.

Our adult children joined is for a 5 day 4 night retreat on Orcas Island to celebrate a birthday. This home was perfect in every way. Beautiful views, lovely garden and yard, well stocked kitchen, comfy bedrooms and a quiet neighborhood but still close to restaurants and shopping by car. Just a wonderful getaway location. We will definitely visit again.

Quiet neighborhood - Beautiful gardens - Well stocked kitchen - gated for security - cozy quarters - rooms with views! Master bed is not comfortable and down pillows would be a nice enhancement over stiff foam pillows. All in all, lovely ocean cottage.

The Groom's family

We stayed here for my son's wedding. This is a special house on the water...clean, well equipped and convenient to the village. We were especially impressed by how well the kitchen and bathrooms were stocked. We needed a house with 3 bathrooms to get ready for the wedding! I would suggest adding a full length mirror somewhere. My grandkids enjoyed the games and toys provided.

picture perfect and convenient location

We booked this home for a friend's birthday weekend and all the guests remarked on how beautiful the home was. We felt like we were in a Nancy Meyers movie with how thoughtful and elevated the decor was...this is a high-quality home and not some flipper special you might see at other BnBs. We were considering other homes that were a located further away from town but in the end this was the perfect location for us...just a few minutes drive to dinner, coffee and breakfast, and easy access to both sides of the island but still very private in feel. Was absolutely perfect, no complaints, and can't wait to book again in warmer months when we can make use of the outdoor furniture and fire pit!

Beautiful home, well appointed and great location. The downside: the fees were outrageous. We paid almost double the rental due to fees. Also, check out was 10:00 which is way too early, especially for the price! Would not stay again.

The perfect getaway

The property was just as pictured. The moment we walked through the door we were greeted with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The house itself was decorated so perfectly, it was clean and bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were fully stocked with everything we needed. It was the most homey, comfortable setting. The majority of our time was spent outside around the gas fire pit overlooking the ocean. We came to the island for a relaxing girls weekend getaway and it was everything we hoped it would be and more. Thank you! We hope to be back!

Just shy of true luxury

This house is well designed, clean and very functional. The kitchen is stocked with almost everything you’d need, including oils/spices (just missing tupperware and ziplocs). Only a couple of things could have improved our stay: new cushions on the outdoor furniture, comfier beds, sheets and pillows (the master is in dire need of a king bed), and repair of the button that opens the deer gate from inside the yard - someone had to walk around each time we wanted to drive somewhere. As other reviews noted, there is no beach access, but just past the neighbor to the west there’s a trail with railings to the water that works perfectly for putting in paddleboards. Another reviewer noted ant traps - I was happy to have them as ants are a problem during NW summers. Overall we had a lovely stay - the firepit was *chefs kiss* every night.

Stained bed and ant traps....

While the location and views are great don’t be fooled. Ant traps, falsely listing double beds as queen, outdoor furniture unusable, 4 different sets of checkout instructions, no shoes allowed in the house which is fine if you tell people in advance, not ideal for an amputee, when we pulled the linens off the bed as one set of instructions said, the bed and pillows were badly stained totaling disgusting. I’ve sent 3 emails spoke to one person and still waiting for someone to get back to me and at least a partial refund.

Don't take the kids (or shoes)

Architectural Digest meets Roberts Rules of Order. Beautifully appointed and maintained, but so many rules posted I felt more incarcerated than on vacation. I understand no shoes in house, but no food/drink on second floor, only plastic spatulas on the pots and pans, etc. If owner is intent on keeping property pristine, maybe vacation renting (particularly to groups with children) isn't a wise choice. Phone call from property manager the morning after arrival reporting complaints by neighbors of people trespassing on their private beach felt like a reprimand and set bad tone for remainder of stay since none of our party had been on ANY beach. Would not stay again. Too staged and not the real Orcas I know from 60 years of summer visits.
