Wonderful place very fun and eccentric. Definitely go back, beautiful mountains,Lots of things to do in the house, Hot tub, pool table, air hockey, and more The host was amazing. Helped us find a beautiful waterfall to go visit. Lots of fun !!

Great for family with Teenagers

Very farm/ old fashion decoration which we loved. House is just great for Families that have teenagers. A lot of entertainment in the house and around the neighborhood. Close to Mountain and shops. Kinda upset with the heating but we didn’t mind wearing some extra clothing. Very good communication with the Landlord in every aspect. Will come back and stay again!!

Good Place

We enjoyed our 11 day stay here. This is a clean, comfortable, quiet and unusual home. There’s a great back porch and open dining room. Big kitchen. Wi-fi is excellent, though Verizon service was weak. Good landlord.

Family skiing trip

This house was perfect for our family getaway! It had all the accommodations we were looking for and only 5 minutes from the mountain. Pictures do not do it justice! The interior design blew us away with all of the antique decor. The kids had a blast in the game room and movie theater. The host Bill was so accommodating and helpful he made our stay 10 times better!

Great Time!

Had a great time at this house. House is filled with a myriad of things to keep kids and adults entertained. House is close to skiing and hiking. We were able to have an air hockey and pool tournament at night. Great big screen for the football game. We were able to walk to the Union Grove Distillery and a small grocery store. Plenty of room for big groups.

Wonderful catskills house

We had a great time at the house, everything was clean and ready. Bill checked on us periodically with the snowstorm and was prompt with answering questions. Hot tub was perfect after visiting Bellaeyre. Game room floor is a very unique feature of the house! Thank you!

Great home base for fishing the Catskills

Heavenly Getaway is a great place for a larger group. It was great home base for fly fishing across the Catskills. Arkville is a wonderful sleepy little town with Margaretville next door. Everything you need and nothing you do not want. The game room was a great days end entertainment for our group of ages of 14 to 65. The Esopus is 20 minutes away. The Beaverkill & Willowemoc is 45-55 minutes away in Roscoe.

Charming, quirky, and fun

If you’ve ever wondered what staying in a lovingly restored and maintained Victorian church would be like, rent this house. The house is comfortable and interestingly appointed. Between the formal dining room and the back deck we were able to entertain friends for lunch with ease. Modern touches are the hot tub on the ground floor and the incredible game room loft. Foosball, pool, knock hockey, and video as well as a large and comfortable sofa. All in all we had a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

Really special place to stay

We had a wonderful time staying at the Church House. Our kids loved it, especially because of all the entertainment provided in the upper loft with all they could play with…pool table/air hockey/fussball/poker/video games/darts, you name it! Bill is an exceptionally attentive host always checking in to make sure all is ok. Downside- it was a particularly cold weekend and some of the rooms were very chilly at night. Pellet stove helped but needs attention every 6 hrs or goes out- so a broken sleep…but kind of fun in a sense, taking us back to the old days, when things weren’t so convenient. I’m sure my kids would be happy to visit again though!

Great, fascinating if not a little quirky

Let me first say that Bill was fantastic and so helpful. The place is in a good location less than 10mins from Belleayre ski mountain and only a couple of mins for some good places to eat in Margaretville. We highly recommend the “Inn Between”!! The house is a ton of fun and the kids enjoyed the games loft immensely. It’s huge!! They even slept up there. The house layout is very unusual but that is part of the charm. I'd say the only slight drawback is managing the heating system (and feeding the wood pellet stove) but it added to the experience in a funny way. Definitely a memorable and enjoyable family trip!

Perfect house for ski weekend getaway

This house is quirky but fun, and perfect for lots of friends/family to stay together. I just got back from staying in this converted Church w/my husband, two kids and dog. My brother and his family also stayed (three kids, wife and dog). There was pleanty of room to spread out, but there was also a large dinning room to have meals together. The loft has an amazing game room, which kept the kids (ages 3-12) entertained. The house is a 10 minute drive from Belleyre Mountain. The owner was very responsive and super sweet. He stopped by to check up on us, and he told us we could stay past check out if we wanted to continue skiing. Overall it was a perfect weekend.

Awesome Vacation House

This house has lots to offer. We celebrated Christmas and New Years with our grown up children and our first grandbaby. The house was big enough to accommodate 5 adults. We were able to be together and separate ourselves. We enjoyed looking at all of the antiques that filled the house. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and make holiday goodies. The hot tub was nice, but the game room was our favorite place. I think most of our time was spent there. I would suggest putting a trash can in the game room. The owner was quick to respond to text messages. Overall a great place to stay. I would absolutely stay here again.

Awesome!

My friends and I had the best time at the Heavenly Getaway, Mcbride House. Pictures do not do it justice. We enjoyed exploring the house from the antiques to the game room. Plenty of space for all of us. Spotless and comfortable. Sitting outside at the end of our day on the porch looking at the stars was so relaxing. I cannot say enough about the host Bill. He had turned on the ac prior to our arrival so it was nice and cool upon our arrival. And had stocked the freezer with some ice.He so receptive to my numerous questions regarding restaurants, activities, live music etc. He even checked in each day to make sure we had an awesome time and ask if we needed anything, He truly wants his guests to have the best experience, and we did! We hope to come back next year!

A Special Place

This "Home" is quite unique, indoor hot tub which the kids loved, as well as the game room upstairs which all enjoyed. A well stocked kitchen and ample bedding for 10 made our weekend Family Reunion stay fantastic. We will look forward to renting again for the next one. Communication from the owner was great!

Everything you need

Great place -- very comfy with a lot of different rooms and amenities. While my wife and I had the run of the whole place, it was way more room than we needed -- place is perfect for a families or couples travelling together. Hot tub, game room (it was so cold we spent a lot of time here!), dining room, living room with pellet stove, "theater room" off the hot tub with a projection white screen, back deck with gas grill. Guests really have a lot of control over the experience depending on what rooms you want to use-- thermostats in every room, electric stoves in most, and the pellet stove in the living room. Proprietor was very solicitous about making sure we had everything we needed and things worked properly. Arkville's a great location -- right off 28, you can shoot down the highway to a lot of different towns with their own amenities and things to do.

Great stay in an interesting home

William was an excellent host there to help out in anyway and ensuring we had everything we need. The home is such an interesting place and has is much to do in the game room and to see in all of the antiques spread through out the house. The kids especially enjoyed the hot tub and game room. Amazing to stay in an old church from the 1800s we had so much fun!

Great find and super family friendly

My family of 8 stayed at this location. Everything about it was easy. The accommodations were great and everything was nicely appointed. Bill, who is the owner, is a great guy and made sure everything was ready for our arrival, including a warm and toasty home. We stayed to ski Belleayre and it’s couldn’t have been better with a less than 10 minute ride. Highly recommend if your are staying with a large group.

Wonderful and unique!

We had a lovely time. The location to several very good restaurants and to skiing as perfect. The game room and hot tub kept the kids busy for hours and off of their electronics. Bill is a great host, we highly recommen, and plan to return!!

Birthday ski weekend

Our multi- generational family had a wonderful time at the Heavenly Getaway! It was quirky and full of curiosities and lots of entertainment- pool table, football, air hockey, and a large movie projector! And a hot tub! Large dining room to accommodate all of us for breakfast or dinner! And our host was very communicative and checked in with us each day! A good time was had by all!

Unique to say the least!

This house is so unique and eclectic! The kids had fun exploring all the antique phones and record players as well as finding their way around the house through all the doors and rooms. The game room was a lot of fun. The host was so communicative and friendly! He made sure we were ok and warm the whole time (which we were) I was very impressed. Now, keep in mind that this is Upstate NY. The houses are old and rustic so you need to expect that the pipes take more time to warm up the plumbing may leak a bit. But the showers were great and the drinking water was fabulous. The whole house had a lot going on but it was very very clean. However, I think this house is best matched to preteens and parents. There is very little privacy and the top bed room is up very narrow and steep spiral stairs. The bathrooms are on the bottom floor so getting up in the middle of the night will be tricky for toddler parents and seniors. Just plan for those folks to stay in the 2 room on the first floor. Save the loft for the teens. The house itself is 5 minutes from Skiing and a cute little downtown area.. Enjoy!
