Great for family with Teenagers

Very farm/ old fashion decoration which we loved. House is just great for Families that have teenagers. A lot of entertainment in the house and around the neighborhood. Close to Mountain and shops. Kinda upset with the heating but we didn’t mind wearing some extra clothing. Very good communication with the Landlord in every aspect. Will come back and stay again!!

Leaf peeking

Wonderful place very fun and eccentric. Definitely go back, beautiful mountains,Lots of things to do in the house, Hot tub, pool table, air hockey, and more The host was amazing. Helped us find a beautiful waterfall to go visit. Lots of fun !!

Wonderful and Unique Getaway

We were looking for a change of scenery for a family holiday getaway and the McBride house definitely helped us achieve that. Our host was very accommodating and extremely responsive, and we had a fantastic weekend!

If you like historic buildings, this is a great place. Fascinating layout and property is full of history. Game room is a great twist and Bill is a wonderful host. We stayed for a wedding at nearby Spillian venue and it worked great

Great find and super family friendly

My family of 8 stayed at this location. Everything about it was easy. The accommodations were great and everything was nicely appointed. Bill, who is the owner, is a great guy and made sure everything was ready for our arrival, including a warm and toasty home. We stayed to ski Belleayre and it’s couldn’t have been better with a less than 10 minute ride. Highly recommend if your are staying with a large group.

Enjoyable stay in Arkville

Very cool building in a quaint town. Host was awesome and helpful with great "things to do" suggestions and accomodating. Amazing rental for a young family/group. Spiral stairs a challenge for seniors and a broad shouldered guy. Neat if you want the place to tell a story!

Adult getaway

Property is unique and quaint. With themed rooms throughout, we always had something different to do or try. And as a bonus, bill offered a covered porch to keep Motorcycles dry! Had a great time.

Birthday ski weekend

Our multi- generational family had a wonderful time at the Heavenly Getaway! It was quirky and full of curiosities and lots of entertainment- pool table, football, air hockey, and a large movie projector! And a hot tub! Large dining room to accommodate all of us for breakfast or dinner! And our host was very communicative and checked in with us each day! A good time was had by all!

Heavenly Getaway

This place is amazing. Great for adults and children. The game room (the loft) was great entertainment for everyone. Great location. The host was very helpful when I had a problem with the pellet stove, my own doing. Great host, very helpful.

Great Pandemic Destination

What a great pandemic destination! Our family of 4 had a great week in Arkville. The house is so interesting and we were never bored with the game room, hot tub and all the nature available to us. The owner was very attentive and sent several good activity suggestions. Overall, the scene of a great getaway!

Family skiing trip

This house was perfect for our family getaway! It had all the accommodations we were looking for and only 5 minutes from the mountain. Pictures do not do it justice! The interior design blew us away with all of the antique decor. The kids had a blast in the game room and movie theater. The host Bill was so accommodating and helpful he made our stay 10 times better!

McBrides Heavenly Getaway was just that a heavenly getaway!!

The process was very easy and well explained by Mr. McBride. He was very helpful and pleasant. The home was clean and had a lot of room for all of us. There is a great deck out back with a BBQ, the kids enjoyed watching a movie on the theatre like screen and the house was equipped with everything you would need! Great weekend getaway!!

Very unique and fun

We went with two families for a fun ski weekend. It was a very unique old church property and the game room was huge and entertaining for all. It's the kind of place that's great for a group that is willing to pile into various spaces, loves antiques and unique themed decorations, and is easy going about small things like uneven heating. The owners support and responsiveness was absolutely fantastic.

Great Time!

Had a great time at this house. House is filled with a myriad of things to keep kids and adults entertained. House is close to skiing and hiking. We were able to have an air hockey and pool tournament at night. Great big screen for the football game. We were able to walk to the Union Grove Distillery and a small grocery store. Plenty of room for big groups.

Great home base for fishing the Catskills

Heavenly Getaway is a great place for a larger group. It was great home base for fly fishing across the Catskills. Arkville is a wonderful sleepy little town with Margaretville next door. Everything you need and nothing you do not want. The game room was a great days end entertainment for our group of ages of 14 to 65. The Esopus is 20 minutes away. The Beaverkill & Willowemoc is 45-55 minutes away in Roscoe.

Wonderful catskills house

We had a great time at the house, everything was clean and ready. Bill checked on us periodically with the snowstorm and was prompt with answering questions. Hot tub was perfect after visiting Bellaeyre. Game room floor is a very unique feature of the house! Thank you!

Enthusiastic recommendation!

A very unusual and interesting converted church. The spiral staircases are a little unwieldy but not impossible. The showers are very good. A little more lighting wouldn't be an awful thing. But the amenities are unique and fun and so is the whole house.

Charming, quirky, and fun

If you’ve ever wondered what staying in a lovingly restored and maintained Victorian church would be like, rent this house. The house is comfortable and interestingly appointed. Between the formal dining room and the back deck we were able to entertain friends for lunch with ease. Modern touches are the hot tub on the ground floor and the incredible game room loft. Foosball, pool, knock hockey, and video as well as a large and comfortable sofa. All in all we had a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

Awesome!

My friends and I had the best time at the Heavenly Getaway, Mcbride House. Pictures do not do it justice. We enjoyed exploring the house from the antiques to the game room. Plenty of space for all of us. Spotless and comfortable. Sitting outside at the end of our day on the porch looking at the stars was so relaxing. I cannot say enough about the host Bill. He had turned on the ac prior to our arrival so it was nice and cool upon our arrival. And had stocked the freezer with some ice.He so receptive to my numerous questions regarding restaurants, activities, live music etc. He even checked in each day to make sure we had an awesome time and ask if we needed anything, He truly wants his guests to have the best experience, and we did! We hope to come back next year!

Joyous Christmas stay.

My family and I stayed at the McBride property for the Christmas holiday. We were looking for a home large enough to accommodate 8 adults for the weekend, us pets, and visitors dropping in, and this was the perfect destination! A beautifully renovated church for Christmas, and the host couldn't have been more gracious! He even ensured we had the most beautiful depression glass table setting for 8 for our holiday dinner! We played games in the game room, watched holiday movies in the theater room, and soaked in the hot tub after dinner! Thank you for the wonderful memorable Christmas!
