About this property
Large 4-bedroom dog-friendly cottage with hot-tub and stunning views out to sea
We offer a large 4 bedroom cottage with 2 bathrooms and 2 lounges which make us ideal for families or groups of all ages. Located on the Castlemartin peninsula in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, we are ideally located for those who enjoy beaches & water sports, walking, exploring historical places or just relaxing in our large garden with hot-tub (wine optional but recommended!).
Within 10 minutes drive are 6 or 7 stunning sandy beaches, including Barafundle, Broadhaven South or Freshwater West (home to Dobby's grave) and historical sites such as Pembroke Castle, St Govan's chapel or Carew Castle & Mill.
Whilst the kitchen is equipped with all mod-cons including a range cooker and there's a bbq outside, we have some great pubs and restaurants just a short drive away if you don't fancy cooking. Why not try the award winning Stackpole Inn, the Michelin recommended Grove at Narbeth or the unique Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company at the Point House Inn!
For those interested in Military Operations, we overlook the Castlemartin Artillery Range and you can often watch manoeuvres from the comfort of the bbq shack! (Note - no Range activity during August).
If the weather is not great, why not spend time relaxing with one of the hundreds of DVD's, a board game or a puzzle?
Whatever your interests, we are sure you will love your stay with us at The Golden Plover!
**** Please note that during peak season (July & August) we only accept full week bookings (discounts are applied) with a Saturday changeover day ****

About the host
Hosted by Anthony Ball

Ant is local to the area but spent most of his adult life in Oxfordshire (where he met his wife Karen) & Wiltshire. After their children flew the nest they looked to move back to Pembrokeshire; finding and purchasing the Golden Plover in 2023.
When we get spare time, we love to take long walks on the local beaches or in the countryside, spend time with family & friends and plan & carry out renovation work on the old property.

Why they chose this property
We are located in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park; the only coastal National Park in the UK. We are surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches and sheer limestone cliffs which make some stunning landscapes and give rise to loads of activities.
The house is on top of the hill looking out to sea across open fields and we like nothing better than enjoying the views from the garden, either with just the two of us chilling, or when barbecuing and entertaining family or friends.

What makes this property unique
The property is located overlooking Castlemartin Military Range - a designated area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) - and for much of the year guests can watch the various manoeuvres and operations from the comfort of the bbq shack. Seeing the troops and their varied armaments is a must for anyone interested in the military. Note - there is NO Range activity during August (and often not in last couple of weeks of July) nor over the Christmas & New Year period.
