The cottage was positioned in a wonderful area with walks from the door, the coast close by and Edinburgh easily accessible by train. We would thoroughly recommend the cottage as a base to explore the East Lothian area.
The property was very nice, very clean, had a lovely little sunny spot to sit outside.Extremely quiet and peaceful.Good location for seeing all the local attractions.Found a lovely restaurant in Haddington called riverside bistro.
The rooms were perfect, the flexibility to have either a queen or twins in either room suited us, all the amenities were there. We knew the area and the narrow roads so that didn't put us off. It really is a lovely area with lots of great walks and natural settings. You might need to research or ask to find the best ones though. The cottage is in a courtyard which is a bit tight to drive into - our modern car beeped all the time with imminent impact warnings!
We are a local family. Giles is Scottish and we have lived here for the past 24 years, leaving Edinburgh when our children were young. We enjoy hosting guests, we've met wonderful people who have returned to us over the years.
