Old Cottage has one double bedroom along with a dressing room with sofa bed, a ground-floor shower room and a cloakroom. There’s also a kitchen, dining room, and a sitting room with a cast-iron woodburning stove (no longer in use). Amenities include an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, Smart TV, WiFi, and a selection of books. Outside, there is unloading available outside the property with roadside parking available nearby, and a small garden with lawn. There is air source underfloor heating in the new side of the cottage, bed linen and towels are included. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Sorry, this is a smoke-free home. You can find a shop within 5.7 miles, and a pub/restaurant (Manor House) in less than 0.1 mile. Note: There are steps up from the kitchen to the dining room. Town: Ulverston is a traditional market town built around a cobbled main street. It boasts a fine selection of independent shops, café’s, and pubs with open fires and real ales. There is an extensive selection of eating places to suit everyone, from fine dining to traditional pub food. Ulverston is also well known as a festival town, with events ranging from flags and walking to art and music festivals throughout the summer months and with the renowned Dickensian Christmas festival in late November. It is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and world record holder of the biggest foam pie fight in the world giving a glimpse into the fun community spirited little town. There are excellent walks around the town and beautiful countryside, with views of the southern Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Home to the deepest, widest and shortest canal, which makes for a lovely afternoon walk with a pub at the end and views over the bay. All of the attractions of the National Park are also easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Nearby family attractions include the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston and popular Birkrigg Common, with its incredible panoramic views across Morecambe Bay.
