About this property

Eldred Cottage, Middleham

Eldred Cottage is a stylish and comfortable Grade II listed mid-terrace cottage over three floors situated within the picturesque market town of Middleham, famous for its twelfth century castle, the childhood home of Richard III and its thriving racehorse industry. All set within the beautiful countryside where Wensleydale and Coverdale meet offering a variety of walks, shops and pubs.

Enter the cottage into the ground floor open-plan sitting room and well-equipped kitchen with convenient breakfast bar and rear door leading out to the wonderful patio area, perfect for families seeking a cottage away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but never too far from a special day out exploring the local area.
The first floor offers a twin bedroom with built-in wardrobe, village views and family shower room. Whilst further stairs lead to the second floor and two more bedrooms; delightful king-size bedroom and single bedroom, perfect for a teenager to have their own space.

Discreetly tucked away, the quite secluded courtyard area enclosed by a Yorkshire stone weathered wall, wraps guests in timeless history and offers comfortable outside seating for all, even your four-legged friends. There is even a glimpse of the castle if you are tall enough.

Should guests wish to leave the apron firmly at home, there is more than enough choice for a meal out in one of the many local pubs or takeaways for a "Chippie Tea". Families or couples will be sure to enjoy this 18th century cottage for a long weekend or more with the Yorkshire Dales just on the doorstep; a walkers paradise, family fun at the nearby Lightwater Valley or history enthusiast wanting to discover the historic abbey's and castle's nearby.
