LIVING ROOM & KITCHEN The living space in The Drey blends comfort and practicality with a touch of rustic elegance. An L-shaped built-in sofa, paired with a padded footstool, creates a cosy nook for relaxation, with a wood burning stove adding to the charm. The kitchen area is impressively well-equipped, boasting a full-size oven, fridge freezer, and a two-pan induction hob, along with solid oak worktops, a Belfast sink and a wall mounted smart tv. The space also features a fold-away oak dining table, perfect for intimate meals. Full-length double doors open to the outside, inviting natural light and offering seamless access to the beautiful woodland surroundings. This thoughtfully designed area ensures a comfortable and inviting retreat, ideal for unwinding and enjoying the peaceful setting.
BEDROOM The bedroom in The Drey is a sanctuary of comfort and style, meticulously designed to ensure a restful and rejuvenating stay. It features a sumptuous king-size bed, another smart TV provides entertainment, while floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Over the bed, a beautiful curved window adds an elegant touch, framing the stars at night and inviting a restful nights sleep amidst the tranquility of the space. Practicality meets luxury with wardrobe and hanging space on either side of the bed, along with ample under-bed storage for suitcases and other belongings.

OUTSIDE Each shepherd's hut is thoughtfully sited to ensure privacy and tranquility. The outside space features a large raised wooden decking area, complete with an outdoor dining table and chairs, perfect for enjoying meals al fresco. A fire pit, which also doubles as a BBQ, adds to the outdoor experience, providing a cosy spot for an evening under the stars. The area in front of each hut is beautifully sown with wildflowers and meadow grasses, creating a vibrant and natural landscape that enhances the sense of seclusion and connection to nature. This carefully designed outdoor space invites relaxation and enjoyment of the serene surroundings.
My family and I live on site and are on hand to assist guests as necessary, helping to ensure you have an enjoyable and hassle free stay.
The hamlet of Lupton is located in Cumbria just off junction 36 of the M6; just a 5 minute drive from the well known market town of Kirkby Lonsdale with its quaint streets, boutique shops, artisanal bakers and a selection of bars and restaurants. Lupton lies within easy striking distance of both The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Park’s, Morcambe Bay and The Forest of Bowland. Towns and villages such as Kendal, Windermere, Hawes, Malham and Lancaster all lying less than 45 minutes away.
The Hamlet of Lupton lies on the Kendal to Kirkby Lonsdale bus route (no.567) however given the rural location having your own transport is a distinct advantage. The closest mainline train station is Oxenholme, which is 8 miles away.
CRABTREE FARM Crabtree Farm is a picturesque sheep and beef farm that harmoniously balances agricultural productivity with environmental stewardship. Nestled in the stunning Cumbrian countryside, the farm is dedicated to farming practices that are sympathetic to nature. This commitment is evident in the extensive tree planting and hedge replacement initiatives that enhance biodiversity and create a thriving habitat for local wildlife. The farm is home to a range of breeding birds, including Barn Owls, Pied and Spotted Flycatchers, Green Woodpeckers and Curlew, adding to the rich tapestry of its natural environment. The rolling pastures and lush woodlands provide a serene backdrop, reflecting a concerted effort to maintain and enrich the landscape. Crabtree Farm embodies a perfect blend of traditional farming and sustainable practices, ensuring a flourishing environment for future generations.
CLAY PIGEON SHOOT To help secure the future of the family farm we have had to diversify. One of these diversifications is Clay Pigeon Shooting. This operates on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 10am and 4pm. Guests are more than welcome to book a taster session.
