Miamoor sits on a high point of the island near Siasconset for commanding views of the surrounding moors, ocean and Sankaty Head Lighthouse from the second story. From there you can see around the eastern curve of the island. Tom Nevers Beach is an easy walk or bike ride a mile away. Far enough away from the crowds in Nantucket Town for amazing peace and quiet, and yet an easy bike ride or shuttle will get you there when you want to go shopping, visit historic homes and tour museums. An even shorter bike ride takes you into beautiful, historic Siasconset, the second largest town on the island.
Quiet and Relaxing: This property is part of the nicest development in Tom Nevers: Tom Nevers East. The development association and residents keep everything clean, the roads in good shape and respect the privacy of others. Our kitchen was completely renovated and updated in 2021. The quality of air, sunlight and quiet makes for hours of wholesome relaxation on the deck. Take an outdoor shower in the midday sun. The sunsets and stars at night are incredible. You will find that time slows considerably around the cottage.
Plenty to Do: When you are ready to get active, bike out for a ride to Nantucket Town or Siasconset, or around the bike trails that encircle the entire island. Go surf fishing off the shore, swim, and play on the beach. If you like kites, you will love Nantucket! Play golf at the local public course in Siasconset. The best place for all sorts of shopping is Nantucket Town. There are a number of great museums in town, and an observatory offering public lectures. The old architecture is like one giant museum; just stroll around town. Nantucket allows no traffic lights, neon signs or billboards. You will feel like you walked back in time!

Everything we could have wanted. The amenities were perfect. The new kitchen made it easy to cook & bake every day for a family of 5. Loved the location, easy access to all of our favorite spots (Siasconset, Great Point, Surf Side Beach, & town). We would love to come back!

Birthday weekend
Miamoor was the perfect place for our retreat. The neighborhood was quiet and very private located 7 miles from downtown. 4 very spacious bedrooms and the house felt very welcoming. Tons of amenities like bikes, beach chairs, beautiful grill, spices, lobster pot, etc. which make you feel as if you are at your own home. Don was wonderful to deal with and I would recommend this house to anybody.
Our family of four was beyond comfortable in this rental. It had plenty of space, games, and was up to date. We liked the peacefulness of the neighborhood. It was a short drive to Sconset. Could also ride bikes. Very nice amenities and comfortable!

Thanks for the kind review! Glad you found it so comfortable and quiet. Hope you will consider us again in the future.
Whenever we walked in we declared the house as "perfect." The kitchen is great, the home has everything you need, and it's honestly better than the photos (and great water pressure in the showers). The location was fine with us, we've stayed in Tom Nevers a few times and like the beaches near there and the seclusion, but it would be hard to imagine doing it without a car. Overall, great stay and would stay there again.

My name is Don Bursch and I am the trustee of our family owned property we four siblings inherited in 2003. I am a physical therapist and avid woodworker and basketmaker living n Nashville, married to Gail with 2 daughters and 2 grandkids who love the island. Nancy, in Dallas with husband Claude and one daughter, loves to decorate and improve the cottage. Dan, in California with 4 children, is an ex NASA astronaut who spent over 6 months on the international space station and made miniature Nantucket baskets while floating in zero gravity (now in display at the airport). Jon, in South Carolina with wife Brenda and 2 children, is a physical therapist and the original cheerleader/advocate for rebuilding on Nantucket (see below). Both Jon and I spent a few years painting houses on the island during our college years.
