Brilliant communication from the host. Immaculate house in a quiet residential street. Had a driveway which fit our two cars comfortably. The house itself was beautiful. Stunning decor and attention to detail. Modern appliances and everything you need. Beds were super comfy with soft linen. The location was great as shops and retail park just a few minutes drive away, Durham was approx ten mins by car. The welcome booklet was so detailed it helped us lots. Would absolutely come stay here again, I couldn’t fault a thing!

About the host
Hosted by Rosch Anton De Klerk
Hi, I’m Rosch De Klerk. I’ve always been passionate about designing spaces that feel good to be in — warm, relaxed, and welcoming, with every detail thought through. I work in design and animation, and I like to think some of that creativity and care has found its way into these properties. My hope is that they do for you what they do for me: make you feel completely at ease, with everything you need exactly where it should be.
Why they chose this property
I moved to Durham when I was 32, looking for a break from the fast-paced chaos of London. What I found here was exactly what I didn’t know I needed - peace, space, and a deeper connection to nature. The beautiful woodlands of County Durham became my go-to place to unwind, and the historic charm of Durham city is just a 5-minute drive from home. I love how the city feels alive with culture and history, yet never overwhelming. And with Newcastle just 23 minutes away, I still get my fix of vibrant city energy when I need it. For me, this area offers the perfect balance, calm, community, and access to everything.
What makes this property unique
This home is all about comfort, character, and calm. Set just minutes from the historic city of Durham, it offers the perfect blend of rural charm and urban access. Inside, the heart of the space is the log burner — ideal for cosy evenings after a woodland walk or a day exploring the city. Each of the three bedrooms is thoughtfully designed to feel like a retreat, with soft textures, calming tones, and everything you need to truly switch off. Whether you're here to explore, work remotely, or simply relax, the space has a warmth that makes you feel instantly at home.
