Beautiful eco-self-catering farm cottage in a peaceful valley surrounded by dramatic Lakeland scener
The Old Byre was converted from a grade II listed barn adjoining our 17th century farmhouse and sleeps up to four people. Fantastic views from every window. Open plan kitchen/living/dining room with well-equipped, fitted kitchen. Underfloor heating, wood-burning stove, TV, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker. Two upstairs bedrooms (King, Twin) and a bathroom. Patio with table and chairs, BBQ in summer months. Well behaved dogs welcome for a small fee.
Four eco-friendly self-catering cottages, beautifully converted from stone barns, sit alongside the traditional Grade II listed farmhouse in a peaceful valley surrounded by dramatic Lakeland scenery. The cottages are set back from the road with direct access to the fells of the Helvellyn range. The fields surrounding the holiday cottages are home to livestock; mainly sheep and free range laying hens. We also keep ducks and geese, whose antics keep everybody amused. We raise Oxford Sandy and Black pigs (in the Spring and Summer) and tend bees, who give us the most scrumptious honey. Peacefully located yet within easy reach of Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside and all the other attractions of the English Lake District National Park. Fornside Farm is idyllic; a welcome place to relax and recharge, away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
