Duckling cottage has got everything you could possibly need for a week or weekend break. The location is absolutely superb with just a short walk down into bowness where all the shops and pubs and restaurants are located. I would have scored it a full five but there was one drawback that has been highlighted in previous reviews. Parking in and around the area is extremely limited but there should be a parking permit to display in your vehicle whilst outside the cottage. The permit is however missing and after several emails and calls with the management company saying that they would sort it out, unfortunately nothing was done about it. It is a BIG problem unfortunately. If parking is a priority to you then you should probably look elsewhere. I was constantly driving around in the evening looking for somewhere to park without having to use the pay and display car park opposite! They really need to address this big issue. It’s unfortunate that they don’t seem to be concerned about this because the cottage itself is beautiful.

We had a lovely time here.

We had a lovely time here. The cottage is very well presented and a lot of thought has gone into equipping it, there was everything we could have wanted. Parking was difficult at times as it's a small street, with few spaces; the parking permit is vital! The location is terrific - there's a Co-op around the corner for all food essentials and there are lots of lovely clothing and gift shops, restaurants and pubs all just a few steps away - we got lots of Christmas shopping done. We had the most lovely time staying in duckling cottage for my birthday week this October. The location of the cottage was fab as it was a short 2 minute walk to all the shops and pubs which Bowness had to offer! The amenities in the cottage were perfect for our stay. There was a welcome hamper on arrival which was a lovely touch and duck food which we were able to take down to the lake with us. We took our dog with us to stay and the courtyard out the back was perfect for letting her out and was extremely secure. Lovely place to stay.

Lovely place to stay. I found it easy to find and a good location for the area. Nice and clean with hard wood floors which I find good when you have a dog. I loved the ensuite showers that was part of the bed room for extra privacy. Great back yard that was sucure. With piece of mind my dog wont get out. The only down side was the step in to the boot room as my mam suffers from arthritis and found it hard to get down but apart from that I would definitely come again Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

My family and I stayed at Duckling Cottage for a week and found it very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The cottage is in a great location very close to shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and a cinema. It's a easy walk to Lake Windermere. We found the location quiet even though it's in a busy area. The extras such as the duck food and dog treats were a nice touch. My daughter particularly enjoyed the duck search around the cottage. There were a large selection of books, games, DVDs in the cottage. Only real drawback is that the master bedroom bed was too soft for us. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it.
