Brundall itself is a charming village located along the River Yare. It is the centre for boat building and boat hire and has its own railway station, post office, mini-market, hairdresser and local eateries. There are two good food-serving pubs both within walking distance, one located at the riverside and the other located centrally within the village, with a large garden. Also located along the riverside is the Marina Yacht Club open to visitors offering great seafood restaurants and tranquil river views.

Wroxham, only 7½ miles away, is known as the Capital of the Norfolk Broads and has waterside shops, cafés, and daily boat hire with river trips available to explore the expanse of waterways. There is an RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen, 1 mile. Norfolk’s finest sandy beaches are within 14 miles and include Winterton-on-Sea, Waxham, Horsey and Sea Palling. For fun-filled family days out there is Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens with a renowned collection of Asian mammals including birds. Here you will also find reptiles in the pleasantly landscaped gardens.
