About this property
TEAL COTTAGE, Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk.
THE COTTAGE
Situation:
Teal Cottage is a traditional flint and brick fisherman's cottage with a lovely garden adjacent to playing fields where there are tennis courts, an outdoor table tennis table, zip wire, a children's play area, skateboarding and basketball facilities.
Cosy sitting room with open fire
Clearview wood-burner in the dining room
Electric heating
Comfortable bedrooms
Sleeps 6
Travel cot
Hob and oven, microwave
Fridge freezer
Dishwasher
Washer/Dryer (additional line in garden)
TV
Games cupboard with jigsaws and board games
Lovely garden with apple trees, a large grassed area, and a sun-trap walled corner.
The cottage is 250 yards from the creek in Burnham Overy Staithe - a quiet unspoilt village, which is close to the RSPB and Scolt Head Nature Reserves and within an excellent bird watching area.
There are many good walks along the North Norfolk Coast Path, as well as in the North Norfolk countryside.
There are sandy beaches on Scolt Head, which are accessible on foot at low tide, and by a ferry service during high tide in the summer months.
You can swim in the creek at high tide, and in Bank Hole (spring-fed) at low tide.
Children love crab fishing from the quay at high tide.
It is also possible to walk to the beach at Gun Hill and then along to Holkham beach which is 3 miles away.
There is good dinghy sailing with adjacent boat parking and launching facilities. There is also sailing tuition available.
PETS:
Dogs are very welcome with a few provisos.
There is an additional charge of £15 per dog for the rental period.
They are only allowed downstairs. The only carpeted room is the sitting room, and we would appreciate it if dogs are kept out of the sitting room if they are wet (dry is fine), and never allowed on the furniture.
Dogs are not allowed upstairs.
Please clean up any mess that your animal might have left in the garden before you leave.
