About this property
Selkie’s Haven: Beachfront Ultra Lux Paradise
Outdoor bath & shower, Green Egg BBQ, underfloor heating, fire pit, full kitchen, Frame TV and Dunskey amenities. Your paradise found is here tucked into the coves between two ancient ports. Like the moon phases it was built to observe, Selkie’s Haven reveals itself gradually—a masterpiece of light, land, and sea. Standing proud on the Southern Upland Way, this lodge is an invitation to solitude, where the rhythm of the tides and winds weave an unbroken connection between past and present.
Step inside, where chapel-inspired archways and barrel-vaulted ceilings create an architectural harmony between old-world grandeur and modern luxury. Underfoot, the recycled wooden floor with radiant heating whispers of timeworn stories, seamlessly merging with jade tile-clad bathroom and bespoke joinery.
At the heart of the lodge, a modernist kitchen anchors the space—curved walls, bronze hardware, and ceramic-poured concrete blend to create a workspace as artful as it is functional. Original windows frame the endless horizon, inviting moments of quiet reflection, while a collection of gilt-framed oil paintings, antique rugs, and well-thumbed books layer the space with a rich patina of heritage.
In the lofted bedroom, the gentle glow of bespoke lighting warms the space beneath a dormer window, where the night sky spills into your dreams. A Frame TV and surround sound Bluetooth speaker allow you to set the mood, whether it be music, cinema, or the natural symphony of the waves outside.
Outdoor Indulgence – A Retreat into Nature
Outside, the landscaped lawn cascades toward the shore, its wild grasses and native flora shifting with the seasons, mirroring the mineral gradients of the maritime soil. Follow winding paths through rewilded meadows to reach two secluded beaches, perfect for kayaking, rowing, and stand-up paddleboarding.
As gannets dive offshore and oystercatchers patrol the tideline, your mornings may be graced by the silent ballet of dolphins breaking the surface.
For those who revel in outdoor bathing rituals, a cliffside bath and shower awaits, where steaming water meets the crisp, salt-laced air. Fire up the Green Egg BBQ for an al fresco feast before gathering around the fire pit, the warmth of the flames mingling with the briny breeze.
A Gateway to Adventure and Heritage
Beyond the lodge, the Southern Upland Way unfolds like a story waiting to be read—an ancient passage once trodden by traders and settlers alike. Nearby, the charming village of Portpatrick offers a glimpse into Scotland’s seafaring past, where fishermen’s cottages hug the harbor, and cozy pubs serve the freshest seafood.
Selkie’s Haven is more than a retreat—it’s an experience of wild beauty, historic resonance, and modern indulgence, woven together in a place where land and sea embrace.
Here, you don’t just visit—you belong.
