About this property
Perfect Vermont Log Cabin - Footsteps from the famous Battenkill River!
A Four-Season Vermont Escape on the Battenkill. Welcome to our classic log cabin tucked on fifteen private acres of forested hillside, just a few steps from the legendary Battenkill River. This is more than a vacation rental, it’s our family’s Vermont home, thoughtfully furnished and fully equipped so you can arrive, exhale, and feel right at home.
The Cabin
Warm wood beams and big windows give the space a timeless, inviting feel. You’ll find a well-stocked kitchen ready for hearty post-adventure meals, a spacious open grand room (living area) with a crackling woodstove, and cozy bedrooms layered with soft linens. Because it’s our personal residence when in the US, everything is here for comfort, from high-speed Wi-Fi for a remote-work day (full office set up) to shelves of well-loved books and board games for stormy nights.
Outdoor Adventure, Every Season
Summer & Fall: Kayak or tube the Battenkill, cycle the famous River Road (often called one of Vermont’s prettiest rides), hike to Lye Brook Falls or along the Appalachian Trail, and swim or picnic at Emerald or Lake Shaftsbury State Parks.
Winter & Spring: Ski or snowboard at Bromley or Stratton, snowshoe right outside the door, or explore Manchester’s Nordic trails. Spring brings maple sugaring and wildflowers to the woods around you.
Local Flavor
In fifteen minutes you can be in Manchester, home to the historic Lincoln family estate Hildene, the beloved Northshire Bookstore, and the Orvis flagship and Fly-Fishing School. Closer still, Arlington offers covered bridges, Norman Rockwell history, and BRONWYN’s lively biergarten for a German-inspired evening. Don’t miss Hill Farm’s farm-to-table dining or Earth Sky Time’s summer concerts and wood-fired pizza nights.
Why Guests Love It
This cabin blends rustic charm with modern comfort and total privacy with easy access to Southern Vermont’s best experiences. Couples find it romantic and peaceful; families love the wide-open play space and the ease of slipping into nature right from the door. Many guests tell us they arrive planning to explore but end up lingering on the porch, listening to nature and watching the light move across the hills.
