About this property
Country Retreat, An Amateur Astronomer's Dream
Baldwin Farm is located in the central Shenandoah Valley, the house is a three-bedroom, two-bath modern country home framed with a large sitting porch looking out on the Alleghany mountains. It is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle.
The mattresses are brand new pillowtops with all new bedding so you can have a comfortable, restful sleep. Pastoral setting. Outside Middlebrook, VA, the house is the center of a working farm. The property sits in a natural bowl with progressively rising hills culminating in the foothills of the nearby mountains. Mark the passage of time as the light descends the slopes in the morning and ascends later and finally gives way to the starry night after the sunset. Contemplative. Sitting off a country road, quiet solitude with some country noise should be expected at Baldwin Farm. Get out, walk around the farm, and experience a simple, slower pace. Watch the cattle graze while looking out over pastureland framed by the mountains. On clear nights, enjoy a view of the starry night sky that one can only get in a relatively light free environment. Meditative atmosphere. Sit on the large covered porch and listen to the wind chimes or gaze out the large picture window in the living room while contemplating the foothills of the Alleghany mountains, verdant in the spring and summertime, cloaked in color in the fall. There are no words to describe how much I love Baldwin Farm. Suffice it to say, I have gone every year for 7 years and intend to keep up the tradition.
Second time staying at Baldwin Farms with family. It truly is a stunning retreat in the foothills of Virginia, whether you want to simply relax or get out and explore the rich history and natural beauty of the region. The hosts are warm and welcoming. Very responsive to any questions you may have before and during your trip. Highly recommend!
Out third visit and just as nice as the first two. A peaceful quiet retreat with a huge fenced yard for our pup to run in and check out the cattle on the other side of the fence.Love the new internet!
The house was vey comfortable and the hosts had staples available for your use. Very secluded. Loved setting on the porch watching the cows, deer, birds and the storms roll through. Would love to return one day.
Wonderful stay. Location offered idyllic views. House was nicely furnished with all essentials, plus ample supplies. Fresh eggs, milk were also in refrigerator. Place was exceptionally clean. This was extremely important to us. Our hosts were gracious, accessible, and extended unexpected hospitality. We hope to return again.
A beautiful and relaxing stay. Enjoyable and peaceful and close to Shanedoah National Park, cavens and other sites. The hosts were pleasant and easy to reach if needed to ask any questions. close to ShanedoahNatioanl Par
We stayed in this home for our annual Mom and daughters trip and absolutely loved it. Very comfortable, plenty of space, comfy beds and good lighting. But best of all was the beautiful pastoral view from the back porch and the total peace and quiet. This home is located in a beautiful part of the state and is close to Staunton, Harrisonburg, Lexington and other small towns. We used this home as our basecamp for exploring nearby towns and taking the Virginia Scenic Railroad Ride and Dine to Goshen. The owners even left a yummy Coconut Cake for our arrival. We will definitely return.
