14 Marine Terrace, a single-storey cottage, consists of a kitchen/diner with range cooker, gas hob, microwave, air fryer, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, and dining table, and a sitting room with corner sofa, exposed wall, wood-burning stove, wall-mounted smart TV, and a selection of books. The bedrooms consist of two doubles, one double with an en-suite, and a twin. There is a bathroom with a freestanding bath, a walk-in shower, a basin, a heated towel rail, and a WC. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent. Outside, there is an enclosed front garden terrace with furniture, an enclosed rear garden patio with furniture and barbecue, and permit parking for one car. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Sorry, no smoking. 14 Marine Terrace offers a splendid retreat, whatever time of year. Note: External double bedroom in annex can be booked a an extra cost.

The town is home to a small, independent brewery, and any need for retail therapy will easily be satisfied by the range of both national stores and charming small, independent shops. Whitstable is also home to The Pearsons Arm, a gastropub owner by celebrity chef Richard Phillips and nearby in Seasalter is the Michelin star-awarded gastropub, The Sportsman which is also well worth a visit. The city of Canterbury, with its fine 6th century cathedral is just 7 miles away; also nearby is Herne Bay, from where on a clear day you can see as far as Southend and the Isle of Sheppey.
