About this property
Romantic, Cosy, Shepherd’s Hut – Log Burner, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Dogs Welcome, Heated Outdoor Pool.
Wales is a country full of culture and history, and there's no better way to experience it than by spending a few nights in a shepherd's hut. Look forward to a relaxing and stress free break, getting back to nature without sacrificing your creature comforts...
Our very sweet Blackberry sits in its own space and its hilltop location gives you the best views across to Cardigan Bay on one side, and Ceibwr Bay on the other. Outside you'll find a decking surround with a private hot tub and a firepit for cooking, toasting marshmallows, or just to keep warm while you watch the sun go down. Perfect for enjoying a glass of wine under the stars.
Blackberry sleeps two in a very comfortable fixed double bed for the best night's sleep. For those winter nights there's a flat screen smart TV so you can cuddle up and watch a film, and you can either using the heating panel or light up the the log burning stove to make it absolutely toasty warm inside. There's an ensuite shower and toilet with heated towel rail, so no chilly dash to outside facilities.
The hut is situated away from our cottages so that you have plenty of your own space while also being able to take advantage of all our on-site facilities. Dogs are welcome, too.
Blackberry has its own dedicated on-site car parking space, so no need to worry about finding a spot at the end of a long day spent exploring this fabulous area.
At Trenewydd Farm, the fun doesn’t stop once you step outside your door. You’ll discover plenty of on-site activities to keep the whole family entertained: our charming G-gauge garden railway chugs through the grounds, there’s a seasonal heated outdoor pool perfect for summer splashing, and a FootGolf course for a playful twist on golf. The large games field is ideal for football, volleyball, swingball or even setting up outdoor chess, giant Connect-4 or jumbo Jenga. Kids will adore the playframe, and any race-fans in your group can challenge each other in our Scalextric shack. Around the farm you can also encounter our friendly rabbits, including the lovable “Mr Biggs.” Nature-lovers won’t want to miss a stroll to the giant bench for peaceful views across Cardigan Bay, or spotting wildlife in our hedgerows and skies - we frequently see birds like red kites, owls and kingfishers right here.
Head outside Trenewydd and you’re immediately in some of the most magical countryside and coast that West Wales has to offer. Trenewydd is just a short distance from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, where you can hike parts of the breathtaking Coastal Path, explore hidden coves, or find peace on dog-friendly beaches such as Poppit Sands, Mwnt, and Newport Sands.
Wildlife is a big part of the appeal: take a trip to Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve to spot kingfishers, dragonflies, and a host of wetland birds. For marine magic, join a dolphin-spotting boat tour in Cardigan Bay - you’ll often see bottlenose dolphins, and occasionally seals or other sea life. If you’re feeling more adventurous, you can try coasteering along the rugged coastline - scrambling over rocks, exploring cliffs, and maybe even jumping into hidden pools. Closer to shore, you’ll also discover historic sites, wildlife centres, and picture-perfect Welsh villages to explore, making your stay a perfect mix of tranquillity, nature, and adventure.
Although the cottages are very rural and peaceful, we're only a few minutes from our nearest village, St Dogmaels, where you'll find a lovely local pub, a shop and post office, the award-winning Friday farmers’ market, and the beautiful abbey ruins overlooking the River Teifi.
We're also just outside Cardigan town, with its independent shops, cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, cinema, castle, and easy access to boat trips, coastal walks, and the stunning wildlife of Cardigan Bay.

About the host
Your host
After years of busy working life in Kent, we decided it was time for something completely different. With two young children and pets, we wanted quality time and not the constant rush. One trip to Pembrokeshire changed everything. We fell in love with its wild coastline, open skies, gorgeous beaches, and just the quiet moments in nature.
Trenewydd Farm has become our family’s second chapter. We’ve poured our hearts into it, not just as a business, but as a place we would want to holiday ourselves. Over the years, we’ve built little touches that make us smile and delighted our guests: a garden railway with steam trains (and even Thomas for the little ones), a Games field and outdoor playframe, a scalextric shack for evening fun, and in summer, a nine-hole FootGolf course free for our guests to enjoy. The large heated outdoor pool and hot tubs are perfect for relaxing together, and the whole site feels like a place made for families, friends, and celebration. Hosting at Trenewydd Farm isn’t just a job, it’s our life.

Why they chose this property
We purchased Trenewydd Farm because we wanted to create a completely different life, rooted in nature, connection, and simplicity. We moved here from Kent, chasing not just a property but a lifestyle: more time with our children, more space to breathe, and a safe place for our pets to roam. When we first discovered Pembrokeshire’s wild beauty, its beaches, hills, and quiet corners, we knew it was where we belonged. Owning Trenewydd Farm gives us the chance to build something meaningful, a place that isn’t just a holiday spot, but is full of memories, laughter, and fun.
