About this property

Luxury Farmhouse Estate on 66 Private Acres | 5 King Suites | Gardens + Trails

Welcome to WILLOWOOD WASHINGTON—a fully restored 1835 luxury farmhouse retreat set on 66 private acres of rolling meadows, mature trees, and serene countryside 90 minutes NW of Washington, D.C.

Willowood is offered exclusively as a full-estate buyout. Chef services and daily housekeeping are available for an additional charge. From the moment you arrive, Willowood functions like a boutique, private hotel reserved entirely for your group.

Your Stay Includes:

ESTATE-WIDE PRIVACY: Your group enjoys exclusive access to the entire home and grounds.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Five King Heritage Suites, Ten Guests (double occupancy), One Stunning Home. The heart of Willowood is the meticulously restored farmhouse, offering five king-bed suites, each with private en-suite bathrooms and thoughtful, design-forward details. Accommodates up to 10 overnight guests comfortably.

Each suite is named to honor the people and stories of the original 19th-century homestead. Every room is individually designed with king beds with luxury mattresses and hotel-grade linens, private en-suite bathrooms, thoughtful lighting, curated art, and bespoke furnishings, views of gardens and meadows, spa-inspired amenities, premium towels, and high-speed Wi-Fi.

The suites are varied in tone and character—some warm and rustic, some elegant and refined—but all share a consistent design language: heritage architecture paired with elevated, contemporary comfort.

GATHERING SPACES DESIGNED FOR CONNECTION:

Willowood offers a combination of intimate corners and expansive entertaining areas—perfect for small groups that want both togetherness and room to breathe. While your included culinary team handles the cooking, guests are free to enjoy the warm, open kitchen—a space that blends stone, wood, natural light, and historic charm. It’s ideal for lingering with morning coffee while the chefs prepare breakfast. The farmhouse features several sitting rooms with fireplaces, inviting you to slow down, read, talk, or enjoy a glass of wine by the fire. These spaces were deliberately designed to encourage conversation and connection.

FORMAL AND CASUAL DINING AREAS:

Meals can be enjoyed in the dining room or outside under the open sky. Multi-course dinners, tasting menus, chef demonstrations, and cooking classes are available as a premium add-on.

THE GROUNDS:

66 Acres of Private Countryside, porches, patios, and firepits, morning sunlight, evening cocktail hours, or late-night conversations come naturally in these outdoor gathering spots.

The estate spans 66 acres of hills, meadows, woods, and historic structures. Guests often describe it as “its own world”—completely private, deeply peaceful, and visually stunning from sunrise to starlight.

ADDITIONAL HIGHLIGHTS:

- A historic springhouse with a gentle brook
- Iconic weeping willow tree anchoring the landscape
- Meadows ideal for yoga, ceremonies, or quiet walks
- Wooded paths for exploration
- Open fields framed by distant hills
- Countless photo-worthy views at any hour
- The property is a dream for photographers, planners, and groups celebrating something meaningful.

OPTIONAL UPGRADES and EXPERIENCES:

CHEF SERVICES: Our on-site chef can create a curated culinary program for you and your guests. We specialize in elevated, seasonal, farm-to-table dining, and menus can be as indulgent or as wellness-focused as you’d like. Dietary customization (vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.) Additional culinary experiences, such as cooking classes and wine tastings, are also available. Please allow our Chef to treat you to a wonderful experience.

We can also arrange wine tastings, wellness treatments, mixology sessions, sunrise yoga, local excursions, historic tours, and more.

This is not a typical rental home—it’s a fully serviced countryside retreat built for those who want luxury, exclusivity, and ease.

To complement your stay, guests may add private yoga, meditation, or fitness instruction, massage and wellness therapies, wine, whiskey, or spirits tastings, guided local excursions (hiking, history, distilleries, trails), photographer services and more.

Willowood is intentionally flexible, supporting everything from a calm restorative retreat to an unforgettable celebration.

LOCATION: SECLUDED, YET ACCESSIBLE:

Located roughly 90 minutes from Washington, D.C., Willowood sits in Maryland’s quiet western countryside—close enough for convenience, far enough for genuine stillness. The area offers historic sites (Antietam, Boonsboro, Appalachian Trail), wineries and breweries, outdoor recreation, and charming small towns. Guests often comment that they feel transported, yet never far from what they need.
