You are spoilt for choice where to eat, with some outstanding restaurants only a few minutes walk away.Yet despite being so close to Church Street the cottage’s location is wonderfully peaceful in the evenings. Whether you are sitting outside with a bottle of wine on the tables and chairs provided looking out to the sea or walking at dusk the East Pier, only a minute away, to watch the sun disappear into the sea there is a lovely, authentic calm about this vibrant and busy fishing town at night. From harbour boat trips to the Whitby Museum, Dracula Experience and nearby Sandsend there is so much to explore and do without needing to get into a car.For those who love the countryside and want to explore further a field the North Yorkshire Moors National Park is on your doorstep with the villages of Grosmont and Goathland where the iconic ‘Heartbeat ’ was filmed with its steam train only 20 minutes away. The owners of Doris really have thought of everything with a rare private secure parking place that comes with the cottage. Whilst this is on the other side of the swing bridge with a 10 minute walk you can unload outside the cottage before parking.
