The property is adjacent to Pannett Park – a tranquil haven in the centre of the town, with stunning floral displays and dramatic coastal views – and is a lovely spot for a morning stroll. Whitby is a vibrant town with a fantastic range of independent shops and eateries, particularly in its picturesque Old Town. Enjoy a wander around the historic harbour, before climbing the iconic 199 Steps to visit the Church of St Mary and the atmospheric ruins of Whitby Abbey. Whitby has a choice of glorious sandy beaches, your nearest being West Cliff (0.5 miles). Dramatic coast paths branch away from the town, offering exceptional walking opportunities, and the stretch towards Robin Hood’s Bay (following the Cleveland Way) is particularly scenic.

From the front door, a few steps lead down into the cosy lounge area, with its striking parquet flooring and calming decor. Hang your coats and store your shoes before sinking into one of the plump sofas to watch a film on the Sky TV. In one corner, up a small flight of steps, you’ll find the sleek kitchen, which has been cleverly configured to include all the essentials for a self-catering break. Although the property has no dining table, lap trays are provided to eat your dinner on the sofas. Upstairs, discover the first of two tastefully decorated double bedrooms. This room has its own en-suite bathroom, a dressing table, and ample storage for all your holiday attire. A further flight of stairs leads to the second double bedroom, which benefits from a fabulous en-suite shower room. This bedroom also has ample storage and a cute dressing table.

Outside, the small courtyard offers a tranquil space with a bistro set – the ideal spot for an al fresco supper on a balmy summer’s evening.
