About this property

⭐Peace & Quiet under the Oaks, at the River

The house is surrounded by live oak and pecan trees with a little deck leading down to a rock patio.

We have a fire pit as well as an outdoor grill.

700 Sq ft of living space, 1 queen-size bed ,1 twin and 2 fold out sofas. Fully-equipped kitchen, full size four burner electric range with oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, blender, pots and pans, eating utensils, plates and glasses....Fully equipped!

The cottage has A/C and heating as well as a cozy wood burning stove. (bring your own wood), Ceiling fans in every room. The bathroom is fully-equipped as well. We provide sheets and towels.

Just a short walk to the crystal clear river. Fishing, swimming and wading for the little ones. It's common to find fossils while exploring along and in the river. Wonderful hiking and bike riding throughout the ranch.

The cabin is REMOTE. We are 35 miles from a grocery store, 18 miles from gasoline and convenience food. Bring everything you will need. Fill up your gas tank in Uvalde, Leakey, or Sabinal.

At night the stars are like millions of diamonds in the sky. Come and enjoy the stargazing., I know you will! Hummingbird and Butterfly watching opportunities!

Beautiful getaway

Absolutely loved and enjoyed our experience at this location. Super simple, clean, and relaxing...the river spots we went to, where we spent most of our time, was perfect for my kids! Though we did not get to meet Dale, his sister and mother came over to check in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. This place is a hidden gem, that I’m glad I found. We will definitely be returning!

Loved it, the water level was low but we took a trip out to 19 mile crossing and took a short hike to find the perfect swimming spot. The cabin was great the beds were a little stiff for my liking. Other than that it was nice and secluded. I would highly recommend it.

Nothing big but did not have any hot water and a little leak in kitchen but other than that everything was great. Enjoyed the real quiet and no cell service. Will come back.

On Thursday night, 07/14, I sent a reschedule request to the host, but have not heard back from him. In fact, I have reached out to the host at least three times from the time I booked the reservation and have never received a response to any of my messages. Was disappointment there was no water to be found there, you had to drive 45 minutes to Garner state park. The place was dirty and some of the Appliances didn’t work

Perfect family fun in paradise

My granddaughter and my two 18 year old granddaughters came for our annual trip to Garner area and as usual had the time of our lives! The property was like a second home to us in no time at all! Everything we needed to be comfortable was made available to us and the view across the riverbed to the mountains was second to none. Peaceful, playful, get away! We loved it!

We absolutely loved the house, the surroundings, the river in the back, the park on the property. Everything that we didn't bring us was in the house. We all needed a nice, quiet and active vacation. Really, really happy with the whole experience!

Awesome secluded house

We stayed at an awesome secluded cabin on 1 mile of the river. The water was not too deep. It came up to my waist in deepest part. Great place to take your little ones. I enjoyed the water as well. Plenty to swim in. And there is literally no one out there while you walk down to the path to the river. Perfect get away for a family with younger children. Will be back for sure!!!

First night we had fire flys and it was majic. The house was well equipped and the AC blew cold. We were told there would be charcoal for the BBQ and we bought lots of food to grill but there was none. We enjoyed our stay it was wonderful

Fabulous Relaxing vacation

Wonderful spring break

We had a blast exploring the dry frio river daily. The cabin is on the river bed and easy access to the river. Beautiful views of the sunset fading behind the hills. Dale was very helpful and communicated excellent. House was just perfect for our family of five and spending a week disconnected did wonders for our family !!!
