About this property

3 Bed in Ambleside (oc-h32727)

Set at the foot of Wansfell Pike, this charming cottage enjoys a peaceful spot with sweeping views over Ambleside, Loughrigg and the surrounding fells. It’s wonderful for a family group of friends, and has space for five guests (plus the dog!). From the front gate, you can walk straight into Ambleside (300 metres) to enjoy a pub lunch. Waterhead Pier (1 mile) is the place to go for classic Windermere lake cruises and waterside cafes. If you’re into scenic trek, conquer fells like Fairfield Horseshoe and Helvellyn, perhaps you’ll opt for family-friendly cycling trails and scenic strolls. Historical highlights like the Bridge House and Armitt Museum (500 metres) are great for a rainy day. Dove Cottage (4.5 miles), once home to the poet William Wordsworth, and Windermere Jetty (5.5 miles) are both within easy driving distance.

Step into this beautifully kept period cottage and you’ll immediately feel right at home. Curl up in the cosy living room with its comfy seating, wood burner and TV – great for relaxing after a day out. Across the hall is a separate dining room with a traditional farmhouse-style table for enjoying slow breakfasts or hearty dinners, prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. Head up to the first floor to find a king-size bedroom at the front of the house, plus a family bathroom with a shower over bath and WC. The second floor features two more peaceful bedrooms – a twin and a double – with lovely views over the garden and surrounding fells.Head down to the cellar where you’ll find the original pot sink for washing muddy boots, and storage space for hanging wet clothing - handy for active breaks in the Lakes.

Outside, you can sit out on the garden terrace with a drink, unwind in the insulated summerhouse or head straight onto the footpath up Wansfell via the garden gate. Please note, while the garden is enclosed, it is enclosed with next doors garden.
