If you’d rather swap the coast for countryside, Exmoor National Park begins 4 miles from the doorstep, with wild moorland, wooded valleys, and dramatic walking trails to enjoy. Further afield, Barnstaple (11 miles) makes for a great day out, with its pannier market, riverside walks, and choice of shops and eateries. Or you can visit the charming estuary villages of Instow (16 miles) and Appledore (20 miles).
