About this property
2 Bed in Fincham (oc-t33561)
A delightful village retreat, this Norfolk hideaway makes a great base for exploring the scenic northern and western swathes of the county. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom cottage is situated in tranquil Fincham, 5 miles from bustling Downham Market and 10 miles from King’s Lynn, with its shops, restaurants and museums. Head out on foot or by bicycle to discover your rural and Fenland surroundings. Venture 13 miles to Castle Acre to see the ruins of a Norman settlement, including a castle, village, parish church and one of the best-preserved monastic sites in England. Take the children to the Watatunga Nature Reserve, 5.5 miles away, where wild animals roam free. Arrange a trip to the Royal Sandringham Estate, 15.5 miles away, to tour the stately home and explore the extensive, landscaped parkland grounds. Plan a day out by the sea in Heacham, 23.5 miles away, or Hunstanton, 24 miles away.
Make your way inside to find charming accommodation with an abundance of natural sunlight and original features, such as exposed beams and stonework. Head into the lounge, where flagstone floors enhance the character and a wood burner awaits you on chilly evenings. Unwind together on the comfortable seating here as you watch the Smart TV in the flickering glow of the flames. Amble on through to the dining room next door to gather around the table for games evenings or lively holiday meals. Prepare your feasts in the contemporary kitchen, which has been designed to ensure you can cater for yourselves with ease throughout your stay. The family bathroom, where you can choose to soak in a tub of bubbles or rinse under a steaming shower, is also downstairs. As darkness falls on the Norfolk countryside, climb the stairs from the dining room up to the first floor of the cottage. Here, you will find your sizeable bedrooms, a king-size and a twin. Enjoy a superb night’s sleep in either room, waking up ready for the next exciting day.
Make the most of Norfolk sunshine by unwinding in your private, enclosed garden, which has a lawn. Have afternoon tea or a glass of chilled wine out here as the day draws to a close. Dine under clear starry skies on summer nights. There is parking for two cars at this cottage.
