Skilfully and lovingly converted from handsome farm buildings, and carefully retaining traditional features in their beamed interiors, all seven cottages provide the highest quality of comfort. Set near the owners’ 17th century farmhouse on a working farm, they all boast their own sitting out areas as well as access to the farm grounds, where coarse fishing and farm walks make this the perfect spot in which to relax and unwind. A sauna, hot tub and games room all add to the pleasurable atmosphere. A wide variety of attractions lie within easy reach including the NT’s Oxburgh Hall, a moated manor house built in 1482 and which holds special events throughout the year, and Langham Glass, where visitors can watch the traditional skills of glass making. A wealth of crafts and antiques barns, a butterfly and wildlfe park, water gardens, farm parks, plant nurseries, museums or rural life and a rare breeds centre also promise good days out. Boasting several unique wildlife habitats and criss-crossed by footpaths and quiet lanes, the wide scenery of the Fens and the heathland and forests of the Norfolk Brecks offer excellent walking and cycling opportunities, whilst the north Norfolk coast, with its picturesque villages, salt marshes and bird reserves, is an easy drive. Sandringham House and Park is well worth a visit and the Victorian seaside resort of Hunstanton’s sandy beaches, rock pools, majestic cliffs, beautifully planted gardens, traditional amusements, fun fair and host of water based activities are sure to delight visitors of all ages. Standing on rising ground just 3.5 miles away is Downham Market, one of Norfolk’s oldest market towns and offering a good choice of shops, inns, restaurants, tennis and a sports centre. Fishing and golf are all available nearby. Shops and pub serving food 1.5 miles.

We booked out two cottages for mums 70th we had the best time.
We booked out two cottages for mums 70th we had the best time. Everything was there that we needed and the kids loved the hot tub and games room. It was so cold whilst we was there but we didn't care. Mary looked after us and also kept the secret ....which I loved.

Gable Barn
The overall stay at the location was nice and pleasant. Communication between customers and owner was basic. The building of stay was a good size and plenty of room to move about without being on top of eachother. The decor was outdated and requires upgrades in places. Cleanliness was poor in places so ended up cleaning ourselves. The big let down of property was the poor WiFi signal which was not spoke about in there general advertising discription. We would go back and hope to find the problems would have resolved. Pricing for the stay was a little over priced for the time of the year.

We had an excellent holiday recently at “Gable Barn”.
We had an excellent holiday recently at “Gable Barn”. The accommodation was excellent with all the amenities you could wish for and in a beautiful location in the countryside in easy reach of the Norfolk Broads, major cities and markets for site seeing and shopping.
We had a lovely host the owner of the property who provided us different information we enquired about.
I have no hesitation recommending this accommodation to anyone wishing for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

We had a brilliant time at Gable Barn.
We had a brilliant time at Gable Barn. The cottage was lovely, the stair gate at the top of the stairs was great for our young children. Unfortunately the weather changed just before we got there with very high winds, lower temperatures and a brief and very rare power cut so we couldn’t really enjoy the facilities (Pool etc) as much as we’d have liked. Would highly recommend a visit to Church farm to anyone with young children. Easy driving distance from lots of nice places to go.

The cottage was very clean and extremely well equipped.
The cottage was very clean and extremely well equipped. However we had a couple of chilly nights and we could not work out how to put the heating on, and so were chilled in the evening and in the bedroom.
The owners were exceptionally welcoming and really friendly. The welcome gift of wine was a lovely thought. The facilities in the complex were excellent.
The fishing lake was well stocked however one of our party was disabled and not able to access the side of the pond in order to fish as the water was very low due to lack of rain. Not the fault of the owners and we feel sure that in a wetter summer it would have been a very good place to fish.

Very good facilities, and a very well equipped cottage.
Very good facilities, and a very well equipped cottage.
Good accessibility and general provision for people with limited mobility. The only improvement would be to have a higher armchair - all the soft seating is quite low for anyone elderly/ with poor mobility.
