Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom abode, which is 9 miles from Great Yarmouth and 22.5 miles from Norwich, is perfect for couples or small families regardless of the season. Spend time here in the summer months and stroll just 500 metres to swim in the sea and picnic in the sand dunes. The beach at Sea Palling, 8 miles away, is popular with those who enjoy water sports, while Great Yarmouth is known for its Pleasure Beach, Golden Mile and many other traditional family attractions. Head 5 miles to Horsey Gap to watch plump seals and their pups flopping on the sand in the wintertime. Venture into the Norfolk Broads, 1.5 miles away, at any time of year to walk beside the picturesque waterways and spot an array of wildlife.


Let yourselves into this bijou holiday home via a door leading into the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner. Slip your beach sandals off or unlace your walking boots by the door and hang your coats or bags as you pass. Put the kettle on for a cup of tea, then pause at the table for a spell to enjoy it over a slice of Norfolk shortcake. Beyond the kitchen/diner is the cheerful lounge, with its colourful furnishings, stripped woodwork and red-brick chimney breast housing a wood burner. Fill this with logs and set it roaring on chilly days, then choose your favourite seat and switch on the Smart TV. If the weather is warm, open the French doors in here to the garden instead. When you are ready to turn in for the night, open the wooden door to the secret cottage-style staircase and make your way up it very carefully. In keeping with the age of the property, this staircase is steep. Your bedrooms, a double, decorated in restful natural shades and with a second Smart TV, and a bunk room, which children will love, are both on the first floor. The family shower room is also up here.


Savour the sea air and Norfolk sunshine out in the garden on fine days. Make the most of the small covered area when the weather is less clement. Dine at the picnic bench and supervise the children as they have fun on the trampoline or lawn. Parking for this cottage is on the street or at the nearby village hall, subject to availability.
