About this property

3 Bed in Trelleck (oc-j34206)

This period holiday home enjoys a picturesque setting in the quaint village of Trellech, surrounded by the breathtaking landscape of the Wye Valley. The spacious property welcomes six guests and is perfect for families and friends holidaying together. It is conveniently located just 300 metres from a popular village pub, which holds regular events. The village is steeped in history, with three prehistoric standing stones, known as Harold's Stones, located just outside the village, along with the remains of a Norman castle, as well as a 14th century church. Trellech is a designated conservation area, with many listed buildings dotted throughout the village, creating photo opportunities around every corner. Further afield, history enthusiasts can also visit Tintern Abbey (4.5 miles) and Raglan Castle (10 miles). The surrounding countryside is teeming with walking and cycling trails to explore, with nearby highlights including Trellech Common and Beacon Hill. For shopping and eating out, the bustling towns of Monmouth (5.5 miles) and Ross-on-Wye (18 miles) are within easy reach.

The chocolate-box property has been decorated and furnished in a style that complements the cottage's original features, with whitewashed stone walls, rustic wooden furniture, and delicate soft furnishings. Enter the cottage into the hallway, with its striking stone wall, and take off muddy boots and coats before moving through to the heart of the home. The spacious lounge is full of character, with a gorgeous exposed beam and an ornamental stone fireplace. This is a lovely space in which to unwind after a busy day, with a collection of statement sofas to sink into as you read your book or watch the Smart TV. The lounge leads into a charming country kitchen, again with exposed beams, as well as granite worktops, a Belfast sink, a breakfast bar, and all the equipment needed to rustle up delicious feasts for the group. When it comes to dinnertime, you can either gather in the beautiful dining room or in the sunroom overlooking the garden. The sunroom forms part of a stylish extension, which also includes a sleek office area, should you need to catch up on work whilst away. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility cupboard and a WC. Upstairs, three inviting bedrooms await, all with charming period features, pretty linens, and plenty of storage for all your holiday attire. One of the double bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom with an indulgent, free-standing bath, and there's also a contemporary shower room on this level.

Outside, the enclosed cottage garden is arranged across different levels, with a choice of patio areas for al fresco dining and a lawn surrounded by mature trees and raised flower beds. The garden has gated side access, and the cottage has private parking for two cars, reached via a neighbouring property.
