About this property
4 Bed in Helmsley (oc-l29736)
Make unforgettable memories with your loved ones at this beautiful stone cottage in the picture-postcard town of Hemsley. Sleeping eight people across four bedrooms, this is an ideal home away from home for large families or groups of friends who want to celebrate a special occasion in Yorkshire together. During the day, explore the impressive ruins of Rievaulx Abbey or head off hiking in the North York Moors National Park. In the evening, come home to enjoy al fresco dinner on the cottage’s pretty patio and watch the stars come out.
Park in your designated spot behind this smart stone cottage (there’s room for two cars) and head to the traditional entrance. Step inside and you’ll find an interior that radiates elegance and style. The sleek kitchen, which boasts quartz countertops and an orangery roof, is flooded with natural light – creating the perfect setting for family meals. The adjoining dining area, with its bar, offers a more formal dining option. Alternatively, fire up a BBQ and dine alfresco at the pergola in the rear patio garden. After dinner, crack open a bottle of something cool and crisp by the fire pit, or head back indoors to relax by the wood burner in the cosy lounge area. As night falls, retreat to one of the cottage’s four beautifully styled bedrooms. On the ground floor, you’ll find a spacious super-king-size room. Upstairs, you’ll find two more super-king-size rooms (one with an en-suite shower room), as well as a handy bunk bedroom. Completing the layout is a smart family bathroom with a walk-in shower and a bath.
Head to Helmsley Castle (0.5 miles) to explore the well-preserved ruins of this medieval fortress. Alternatively, spend a lovely day exploring Duncombe Park (1.5 miles). Explore the woodland trails and admire the grand Georgian mansion.
