Drake's Rest, Kirklinton is a beautifully converted, characterful cottage located on the owners farm. The cottage is perfect for couples looking for a base from which to switch off and recharge their batteries away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage has a private garden with views to the northern Lake District fells and hot tub where you can watch the twinkling stars at night. The owners attention to detail ensures your stay here is truly relaxing with everything you need to enjoy a break in the Cumbrian countryside.

The cottage has a cosy open plan living area with comfy seating positioned around the Smart TV and wood burning stove, snuggle up whilst watching the latest Netflix release. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to rustle up a feast for 2 with electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave which can be enjoyed at the dining table.

As evening descends and sleep beckons, make your way to the bedroom (accessed by 2 steps) with views to the fells, comfy double bed and TV perfect for leisurely mornings in bed. Freshen up in the shower room with walk in shower.

All electric, bed linen and towels provided. Private parking for 2 car. Cot available on request. One small dog welcome. Garden with patio area, outdoor seating, hot tub and views of the northern Lake District fells.

Hot tub was a lovely temperature, and luckily we had 2 decent clear evenings to star gaze from hot tub. Rooms nice and clean, starlink wifi was great.

Excellent, tranquil spot for a few days R&R

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Drake’s Rest. The property is well-equipped and delightfully furnished and decorated. We met the on-site host a couple of times, who was very helpful and friendly without being “omni-present” at all. The situation, in the Borderlands area, is idyllic. Close to the Lakes and Hadrian’s Wall country, but delightfully quiet. Ideal for running, walking, cycling - or just enjoy the rural environment. Would definitely return..!
