Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
Town: Lochcarron runs along the north eastern shoreline of Loch Carron, an area of wonderful unspoilt beauty surrounded by mountains. The village attracts many visitors and has good local services including hotels, shops and a petrol station. There is also a golf course that borders the shoreline of the loch and it is home to the famous Lochcarron of Scotland, the world’s leading manufacturers of tartan. From Lochcarron you can easily access the Applecross Peninsula by taking the famous Bealach na Ba mountain pass road, not the easiest of journeys but the views from this route are unforgettable and well worth the journey. The central location of the village means that access to such places as Skye, Plockton and Torridon is very easy.
